Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 On the Anglia's engine I used Green engine Enamel. I got the brush on paint and it covers really well, but does take a little while to dry, but it is very hard wearing
Wessie Posted July 17, 2007 Author Report Posted July 17, 2007 may sound cheeky but anybody got any pics ? and jimbob, did you just buy that from the local motor factors?
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 may sound cheeky but anybody got any pics ? and jimbob, did you just buy that from the local motor factors? Yes mate, only a little tin, but it covers really really well, and it only cost about £3.50. Here's a pic:

Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 i used hammerite too sorry no pics though
Fiesta Steve Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 Normal 2 pack is good too. In fact most paints are fine. The important thing is to get the engine 101% grease and oil free. Then it will stick like $hit to a stick. Preparation is everything !!
TwoLitrePinto Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 I am also painting my engine on saturday, but the engine is complete ready to go in so i need to take a few bits and pieces off (mounts etc) to clean it up a bit first, i am unsure what color/s to paint it though and what paint, plus i was hoping to put the engine in saturday also so a paint that doesnt take days to dry would be nice. anyone got any ideas? also my janspeed 4branch manifold is looking a bit rusty these days, can that be painted? thanks
James HPE Motorsport Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 i use plasticote, as recommended by steve at vulcan! Works a treat and there is a good selection of colours
mk1mexico Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 This is the brush on enamel paint i used on my zetec from the local motor factors. No peeling as yet after nearly 3000 miles
