antz Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 who can do this and how much does it cost? i wouldnt mind getting the terracotta terror valued but dont know anything about getting it done.
mk1mexico Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 Any decent classic based insurance company should be able to sort it mate. Even the odd 'run of the mill' insurance company if your lucky
tim Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 join a reconised car club like seoc to get the car valued and most insurance comps give discount to club members
Posse Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 seoc have;nt got a clue how much the cars are worth .At classic ford show they were charging a tenner to do it so the guy on are stand took his escort over there and they said its worth £3000 its the la-mans green one that was on our stand .I think if its not bling and standard you will get a shite agreed value.
4parajon Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 When I did mine with Adrian Flux I just worked out (roughly) how much it would cost me to buy or build the same spec as mine, sent them over photo's and they agreed. At the end of the day if you reckon your car is worth £5k (for arguements sake) but want it valued at £7k then all's it would do is bump up your premiums providing you get the company to agree to it of course
orionmojo Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 i did that with adrian flux with my orion, i said it was worth 1200 quid and they basically laughed at me, so i told them about the suspension, seats, install, brakes, wheels and thats what i paid for the parts and most of them were used already they agreed, i had to send them pics and reciepts though
spitbarnatt Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 Spoke to SEOC and he didn't seem have a clue about valuing a modded car. RSOC will only do RS models even if you pay to be a member and the most help I get from Adrian Flux is ' Use an owners club or a reputable source but we can't recommend anyone.' Got a local garage to value it so I hope they accept that! Bleedin car was MOT'd a month ago but can't use it till I get the agreed value as it's a bit of a risk. Annoying thing is that they'll want me to do this every year. (thats only if you're valuing it at over £7500 with them though)
Fiesta Steve Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 HIC insurance do it for £15 YOU decide what its worth. You then send them 6 photo's of the car and they tell you weather they agree or not. Unless you tell them a ridiculous amount, they will agree with you. Just be honest.

Footman James are the same, self valuations upto a value of £15000, send them some photos and fill in a form describing condition and what you value the car at. They will assess the application and charge you an appropriate premium. Over £15k and it needs an independent valuation
g5cos Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 Mines with HIC with a fixed value of £25-000 with papers to back it up,can't say enough about the great service this company provide
Gareth Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 I did an agreed insurance thuingy when I insured my Mk1. I put down that it'd cost a lot to replaces my car, got a value back of 6
GJUK Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 Adrian Flux have my car valued at £5k. which they didnt need to see photos for Jon
Smudger105e Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 Footman James only want pics of cars if you are valuing them at above an average 'book price'. But it's not a problem really, as long as you are not going daft with the valuation.
jimbo Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 I'm now with HIC and they said thay we could arrange an agreed value for £15 any time throughout teh policy. This meant I was able to get insured straight away, but can agree the value once I've tidied it up in a few weeks time.
pelvins Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 i got an agreed value for 15,000 with roadsure i had to be in a affiliated club and 6 photos and big spec sheet and it was cross checked by there parties did take a year to sort out though !
