BaileyMex Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 As some of you know, recently I sent my rear wheels away to have 5mm machined off the inside of the wheel, to give me a little more clearance on the N/S/Rear arch (7x13"'s) The guy who machined the wheels accidently scratched to buggery one of the wheels, so bad in fact it either needed re painting or a new wheel, as it had a small kerb mark on it anyway I got the guy to cough up for a new wheel When it arrived he said he didnt want to have anymore to do with it as he didnt wanna risk ruining another wheel as it cost him the best part of £100 for a £40 cash job PLUS when the new wheel arrived it's a different shade of silver to the other three So... Car on axle stands, four wheels, two fine, one machined the other not machined and a different colour Took the rear wheels to Spit N Polish on Thursday to give them the task of finishing the job, once back just need to get them all painted the same colour...... Now the problem, do I miss another meet, i.e the Esher meet coz the wheels aint back n ready Or do I stick my New Yokies onto a set of Lotus Steels I've got in the garage and have it I dont need this stress at my age My new Yokies arrived on friday and

over_head_cam Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 Get them on the car Col. You can have the odd one painted at your leisure afterwards
Admin Vista Posted August 27, 2007 Admin Report Posted August 27, 2007 Steel is the new alloy No it isn't, well not for me anyway Get the new wheels and tyres on there, have you still got the damaged one or has he kept it? If you still have it, then get the tyre on that one while your new one is being painted, then swap it over when it's ready. If not, stick the tyre on the new mismatched one and have it painted at a later date, that way you only pay for fitting and balancing of one wheel as opposed to four.
Burns Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 stick the steelies on until your alloys are sorted
tim Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 get the steels on,get the 4th damage wheel machined down then get all 4 wheels refurbed then sell the 5th new wheels to help pay for refurb
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 Stick it back on the trailer. Ahhh man, that is raw
