am after a mk 1 escort 2 door but am treble with money the saving part i like to have things naw and not wait for something better to come round so should i save for one, by a 4 door and skin the back 2 doors or get a lone.

 

Wat i eventually want is a lowered mk 1 in blue mex stripes on superlights with a 1300 screamer with webber 40s.

Wat you all think and yes before some one asks it will be my firs car

Save up mate, if you want a two door get a two door and dont settle for anything less but be prepared to save! A good osf dont come cheap, plus all the other parts are expensive too, like the lsd, expect to pay near the 400 pound mark for one. good luck

Back to the car question, save the money like Tim said and buy the one that your heart really wants.

I say save up and when youve got enough you dont need to take the cheap option.

 

The 1300's are all crossflows in our cars. Im not sure if there was a 1.3 cvh but there is a 1.25 zetec. You wanna stay clear of the cvh and the zetec is pointless, may aswell go 1800 or 2 litre.

 

A pair of 40's will make very little different apart from noise and how much fuel gets dumped into the cylinders. You should match a cam and have the head polished and ported to reap any rewards.

 

I love the idea of a screaming 1300, but cost wise you may aswell get a 1600 and have the same power youd get from the 1300 wthout spending a fortune. My suggestion is to sort out a 1300 (which is still fast enough for a first car) and build up on the side a 1600. Then you could go all out and thered be no downtime without a car. Once youve gotten a years no claims or so drop the 1600 in.

 

You should also start typing a but better. We arent on MSN or sending text messages. Most of the people on here dont like it, and neither do i. Im not trying to be an arse, im just saying that youd be much better recieved if you took a few extra seconds to spell properly.
