do some people drive so slooooooooooowly

 

on the same bypass today, it's a 50 limit (don't ask me why it's only 50) with a single lane either way and space to overtake in the middle. it's about a mile long. on the way to my parents, there was someone doing 35 all the way down the bloody thing (there were 4 cars between us, so i couldn't have overtaken safely) then coming back, i was behind someone doing 40!!!

 

what's the bloody problem with doing the speed limit?

 

now don't get me wrong, doing 50 or there abouts is fine by me, but bloody 35mph

There's a 50mph road near me that people insist on doing 30. And it's downhill.

 

The Driglington bypass is the same. Either people rag it down there at 80, or drive at 45-50.

it really pisses me off when old folk sit at 40 down an A road get into a little village and there still doing 40

 

FFS if your not confident on an open road above 40 why the fook are you doing that speed with parked cars and kids around

Don't even get me started on the driving abilities of the muppets on the road. I do about 30,000 miles a year and I reckon about 10,000 of that is backwards. I'm up and down back lanes all day and the amount of people I come across who can't reverse. I give in too easily and end up reversing for them. A lot of them won't even attempt it.

 

And why is it that people seem to think that because they are on holiday then everyone else must be too. I've got a job to do and don't have the time to be doing 20mph between calls

Its getting really bad in Hertfordshire. I was only discussing this with my g/f a while ago. People do 20 in a 40 and 30 in a 60, etc.

 

The worst bit is they dont seem to know what mirrors are for and dont realise the holdups they are causing.

 

Sometimes I like to drive slowly, like in the countryside, but when someone appears behind me I move out of their way. I hate driving with someone right up behind me, and its just good manners to let them past.

 

It makes my blood boil!!! Grrrrr

my m8 pete was driving donw a country lane and there was a range rover coming the other way brand new £60k worth of range rover and he pulled in to the side (the rangrover) so pete sped up but the guy had just pulled in he hadnt stopped lol they actually got wedged together had to be pulled apart couldnt even open their doors

Know what you mean, I followed a car out of Brixham on Saturday doing 30mph in a 40 zone, managed to get back to the yard, reload the van & get back out for 2nd deliveries (Took 12 minutes to load the van), went down the back lanes to do my first drop in a small village & managed to get stuck behind the same car going through the village!!

It takes 5 minutes tops to get to Stoke Gabriel from where I got past them on a short dual carriageway

the worst 1 on back roads is when u come across a 4x4 and they wont use it to get off the road out of the way and make u either go off road or reverse right back up the road

 

i can understand goin slow if u are lookin 4 a road but that is the only time not doin 30 in a 50 etc i think it is worse doin that than doin like 55-60 in a 50

YEAH!!!! thats annoying too!! even worse when its a beat up 4x4, that you can tell gets used off road anyways!! just ignorant 4x4 drivers init!!

annoying, i travel alot for work with three of us in a crew van taking it in turns to drive, but one of my mates says it is a limit not a target and often drives 5 to 10 mph under the limit. needless to say, he doesnt get to drive much.
