Whats the genaral opinion about fitting fibreglass wings to an Anglia? Is it acceptable or a bad thing? Does the fitting of fibreglass wings ruin an otherwise good car?(or van in my case)

Cost is obviously a major consideration, £80 each for f-glass vs £300+ each for steel!

My perception has always been that Escorts & Capris etc should always have steel wings but somehow an Anglia can get away with fibreglass ones + they weigh less so you get to go faster!!

Votes and opinions pleeeze

1. Steel?

2. Fibreglass?

3. No preference?

I prefer steel, but not got a real issue with fibreglass except fibreglass wings tend to curve in a bit over the wheelarch. Have a look along the side of a 'box with fibreglass wings and you'll see what I mean. What about a full flip front?

The ones with that defect are the Smith&Deakin ones. It's always the n/s one thats got the curve. The old ford auto's ones are better- so i'm told..

Ok cheers for that guys! I've decided to go fibreglass. I ordered em today. She ain't gonna be no show queen. More a drag strip- donut machine with a lairy pinto!

In my opinion £350 per side for steel ones just aint playin ball. I'll invest the £500 saved in more important areas of the van. The purists may not agree but what the hell
