BIGKEV Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 I heard on the news today that Speeding offences that usually incur 3 points will automatically be doubled to 6 as of today. What do we think of that then? Discuss
surfingturnip Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 thats only if you cant prove who was driving and havent got a good reason for it, i.e. the car being stolen
BIGKEV Posted September 23, 2007 Author Report Posted September 23, 2007 Well you sort of have it - as I understand it its been made up to 6 points across the board to prevent things like " I forgot who was driving" etc
Copey Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 great so i get pulled for speeding once and i am banned, King great!
john_3.0s Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 points on your licence should be for specific driving offences not criminal offences like *forgetting* who was driving your car, thats what the courts are for. policing on the cheap again boys.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 24, 2007 Admin Report Posted September 24, 2007 great so i get pulled for speeding once and i am banned, King great! If you speed then you knowingly break the law - your choice mate - if you don't want a ban then don't speed

sab6024 Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 My brother got banned for 35days for doing 115mph on the M5, he got no points though. The guy who went into court before him got tugged at the same sort of speed on the same day probably by the same coppers. He got a £2000 fine and 9 points. How does that work?
