capri death

well some of you at shakey this weekend might have noticed the capri was sounding a bit rattly .... i didnt know what it was ... as had just done the tappets (in the dark)

 

now col reckoned it might be the valve guides but alas it wasnt ... i decided to double check all the tappet gaps today just to see if i had missed one ! and i didnt ... but i did miss the King great chunk missing from the inlet lobe of the cam for no4 cylinder its fooked ....

 

i need a new cam ... im skint ... dont have a job either so the capri is probably gonna sit on the drive rotting till xmas when i might have enough money to buy a new cam !

 

it was an fr32 just incase anyone has one collecting dust on a shelf

mate dont disspare! im suresomeone on here will have an old cam lying about you could fit? dont matter if its not new, all you need to buy is a head gasket and rocker cover gasket prob no more than 15 quid max from a motor factors. jam the cam in there and go for it, just adjust tappets again. itl see you through.

I have a stock 2.0 cam you can have for nowt or a tenna if you want me to drop it off

collect for nowt if you can, i'm about a mile from J25 M25 straight down the A10

Take the engine out save buying a head gasket

the real thing m8 that not all of us use wild cams,its how you macth the mods. on a pinto we love using rc1 kentcam & 665 holbay

I've got an FR32 cam already fitted to a head sitting at Colin's yard, which he rebuilt last year for me, which I won't be using now

I've got a std pinto cam you can have. Im not going to post it to you though its very heavy.,

 

its out of an unleaded pinto - slight wear on the cam lobes.
