Some of the guys make up their own firewall from Ali sheet...

Anyone know what thickness sheet works best for this - want something pliable to bend but not snap on me ...

Cheers

Firewall from Aluminium sheet? :? I don't geddit, it sounds much like a chocolate fire guard to me.

Aluminium melts at 660 degrees C, but deforms at an even lower temperature. A petrol fire will easily achieve those sorts of temperature so I don't really understand why an Aluminium firewall would be allowed in any motorsport rules. :?

It's only to prevent the flash flame, hopefully you'd be out before your arse reaches 660 C

anything between 1 & 1.5mm is fine, shouldn't need any bending either - I've one in the garage thats completely flat.

Might be worth making up blanks for the gaps inside the rear quarters.

Seal & rivet & you're good to go
