PaulAshman Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 Bring it on buddy, i love the RAT look
10mpg Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 Matt black paint is uber cool esp when twinned with really nice wheels, but deliberately scruffy cars just make me think the owner is lazy/doesn't care.. On the other hand a car that looks like it just rolled out of the scrapyard and blows everything else away has some serious style but as popup toaster says it has to be a genuine one otherwise its just a bit sad deliberately making your car into a heap...
bmxdave Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 Call it what you want, i couldnt care less, but a rapid car covered in battle scars and abuse is sexy to me. I Love it when racing cars just have damaged panels taped back up instead of going through a full rebuild with perfect paint. You build it to race, not to look shiny. Same goes for drag cars or any car owned for driving at speeds. Concourse cars should be shiny, thats the point of concourse, however its not the point of a performance car unless your a nancy and want to show off while driving at 15mph so everyone can see you. Eachj to their own of course, some people like modified concourse.
Admin Vista Posted November 2, 2007 Admin Report Posted November 2, 2007 Rat look isn't for me, nor is Matt black. Bright colours every day, shiny or non shiny I don't care they just get noticed more.
Von Loxlee Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 as with anything in life it has a million different names and a million different meanings its almost as bad as when a band gets annoyed if they get called anything other than the post hardcore psychadelic jazz doom grindcore that they prefer to be known as and vista i dunno abut the bright colours getting notcied more i get more than a few looks in mine think most of them probably say "ooh i wonder what colour its gonna be when its finished"
huxmk1estate Posted November 2, 2007 Author Report Posted November 2, 2007 Can't you spend the time and money on your MK1 Escort instead! this is the idea mate....(rat look) is cheap!! the thing is my mk1 escort sport is the show car!!!! so i want something that stands out and can be parked in town and not worry about it being keyed or srcatched,,, the car will still be mint UNDERNEATH..... i personaly love the look and always puts smiles on ppls faces!!!!

Danmex Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 Leave the door off and put a sheet of polythene over it, proper rat look
mk14dr Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 power not paint but seriously, manufactured 'rat' is not the way forward
beedz Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 as mine is an ongoing/side of the road/daily driver build I don't have a lot of choice over its current rat-look whichever section has had any work it had to be treated & covered with some sort of paint that day - usually whatever is to hand! much as she'll have a nice shiny paint job some time next year when she's done, it still draws loads of attention if that's what you're after. more importantly, I still think it looks cool I'll love it even more when the bigger engine is in, can't wait to see people's looks then when she's still looking tatty
