Mr Sam Posted December 2, 2007 Author Report Posted December 2, 2007 no its an anglia in New Zealand the guy is using an NA 13b as the dummy engine but has a tubby one to put in im getting very tempted though as the carb'd ones just have an awsome sound and seem to go like the clappers
Guest MK1gaz Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 The washing machine lookalike rotary motors are mental . They drink petrol like a big V8 though
young un Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 dont do it keep it old skool - or at least ford - put in a zetec
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Do it. Do it. Don't put in a Zetec.
young un Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Dont do it DOnt do it. put in a zetec - or a screaming crossflow hehe
Mr Sam Posted December 2, 2007 Author Report Posted December 2, 2007 typical....... theres an atmo one down the road at £50 and yes its first few seasons will be screaming 1300 x'flow and no sorry but i couldnt bring myself to put a zetec in it
TomB Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Do it, i love the rotary engine...reving to 10000 rpm. Watch loads of these cars in Orlando, crazy times with small engines.
Wessie Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 do it sam not all angleboxes need to be zetecs !
bmxdave Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 YES YES YES! The 13b is a great engine. I reckon in NA form itd suit your car best. Theyre readily availible in the 80's rx-7's too as no-one wants them. You hear loads of stories about them being unreliable and needing a lot of work, but its not true. If you really look after it like you should any engine, and use the right oils and decent fuels then itll run far longer.
huxmk1estate Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 DOOO ITT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WELL!!!! thats going to be my next engine!!!! do it.... they do cost tho .so be careful
Guest MK1gaz Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 do it sam not all angleboxes need to be zetecs !thank fooooook for that
Mr Sam Posted December 2, 2007 Author Report Posted December 2, 2007 trust me whether this gets done or not i will NEVRE i repeat NEVER be putting a zetec in my anglia its going x'flow screamer then 8v pinto.........unless i stick rotors in it thats the video ive been looking for, not bad for a 1.3 huh
oliwally Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 If you can find a cheap mot failed cosmos then get that, serious power as its a 20b 3 rotor, get it bridged ported and some carbon seals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KvIFbVM ... re=related watch how the white one takes off
oliwally Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 there's also a firm that fit these into rally escorts,so should be fairly easy to get them to fit into the 'box
Mr Sam Posted December 2, 2007 Author Report Posted December 2, 2007 thats mental such a barge but dont half shift!!! lots of rotary dragsters all running 8's
Mr Sam Posted December 2, 2007 Author Report Posted December 2, 2007 there's also a firm that fit these into rally escorts,so should be fairly easy to get them to fit into the 'box yes one turned up at pod back in Feb, launched off the line (must of still had the suspension in rally settings) fish tailed 90degrees each way then just took off sequential box as it was propperly banging through every gear........thats whats made me want todo it really
Mr Sam Posted December 2, 2007 Author Report Posted December 2, 2007 that one has convinced me it is a goooood idea all be it an expensive idea just listen to that rev and watch for second gear
Smudger105e Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 I had this discussion with Burns a few months ago, would an Anglia with a wankel become a Wanklia?
