i dont know if i can partake in this thread as i have both 2 and 4 doors of the mk1 and also the mk2 escort variety and have also been known to dabble in a bit of capri loving and am in fact looking at bidding on one on ebay at the moment 8)

Surely it's nothing more than a case of preference?

I have had a couple of opportunities to own both MK1 and MK2 Escorts in the past but i haven't bothered. I like Capri's, nuff said. I don't care about the image they HAD, thats gone now.

It's got nowt to do with doors, engine or image, it's a case of what people like.

And while i find it difficult to comprehend the notion of another old Ford owner "looking down on me" then i say more fool them. The scene isn't about being narrow minded, it's about being involved in a fantastic common interest.

Let the Saxo boys argue over who's generic car is the best, it's what they're good at.

And quite frankly, if you're doing your bit to keep another old Ford on the road then your car is as goos as anyone's if you ask me.

I love 'em all! I've had a mk3 capper, currently have a mk3 tina & an Anglia estate. I'd love a mk2 4dr Ghia on superlights but don't think I'll ever afford one with the way prices are going :(
