kevmk2 Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 BEST THREAD EVER! Lol at how young I was getting into Darren Dowlings Escort (yeah cheers Kev!)! Surprised I made it to this age after that ride, as most who know him will confirm - the guy is an absolute loon of a driver (good, but NUTS!). I drove his Dad normans yellow and blue RS2000 racer that day too The silver Mk2 Cossie was my favourite Mk2 ever, that, plus the XXX peppermint green arched one in RETRO mag around the same time was what cemented MY love of Escorts. The silver and red atmo Cossie Mk1 I featured... you won't see it anywhere. Ever. It's my mate Matt 'O Sullivans, a bit of a naughty boy from Chingford. His mates ran the Epping Forest Country Club when i knocked around the area... mint, mint car but he's not in the scene, never has been. GAZ - THAT'S THE NORF LONDON LOOK SON! ; ) Ben No problem mate for the comment on the pic Why wont that car ever be seen? Does he still own it?
antz Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 its not too old but in MARCH OR APRIL 2003 of max power mag theres a red mk2 escort with banded mondeo steels running a 180bhp pinto....twin cowel dash, stripped out, tarmac arches. stupid me left the mag at surfing_turnips house but i checked the DVLA and its still around. anyone know this car by its description?
kevmk2 Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Yeah i remember the owner of it when he had an RS turbo escort, he pulled up along side a load of us parked up down southend and took alot of pics of our escorts, he said he was building one himself. Then a few months later i see him in it down southend
LEONMEX Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 yup it was from ipswich & built by daniels dad (the lad in the feature) he lost his licence for drink driving & the car was parked up for a while then he sold it on,not sure who to though. It was fookin mint & his dad made the dash top himself & is really handy with the fibreglass moulding. I thibk the mondeo steels had the centres turned round to get the offset right. lovely car

escortmad79 Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Anyone remember my mate Ned's mk2 from chelsea? The white one mainly, drifting around the roundabout all night, my mate Lee used to drive it, and boy could he drive And Wayne in the armchair Neds red one ended up with a guy in Barnstaple who had a fleet of other mk2s (including a couple of RS2000s), think it's been sold on since

Guest BenB Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Kev - No, you won't see it just because he's not into the 'scene' as such, he's just had the car for years and uses it for his own pleasure. He's still got it, and it's still lovely! Ben

Doc Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 i like the one with my old 1760 anglia on the CF tour and my x pack but im a bit biased that way
Toby Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 Whats going on with the 0-100 time though? 16 seconds? The artical does say it was wet, and we all know how these turbos deliver thier power It probably launched with 2 HP spooled up, WOOOOSHED up to 5 MILLION HP, span the wheels for 16 of the 16.5 seconds, and there you have it. Of course what he should have done is popped a side-valve in it!!
