So 633 LPG could still live on under a different reg no then ? 8)

How sad am I? It turned up in Trade-It round my way about seven or eight years ago, and I've just found the cutting in my desk drawer

'Anglia 105E, ex-John Tebenham drag car, partially spaceframed, rose-jointed, five-linked rear end, Quaife rear axle, fibreglass bonnet and boot, 2.2 Pinto, five-speed Cosworth gearbox, offers.'

I remember feeling sick at the time, as I'd just shelled out £2000 for my Anglebox, and I think the bloke only wanted £1500 for this.

No idea where it is now.

Here's JT's original Anglia (plus John Beardmore's legendary V8 Reliant Kitten) at Brighton from a 1993 issue of Street Machine:

The Kitten is still about - a bloke on Alcoholics Anonymous's got it.

Also got an old Street Machine with an awesome Anglia Thrash that Tebenham took part in somewhere. Will dig it out.

BEST THREAD EVER!

Lol at how young I was getting into Darren Dowlings Escort (yeah cheers Kev!)! Surprised I made it to this age after that ride, as most who know him will confirm - the guy is an absolute loon of a driver (good, but NUTS!). I drove his Dad normans yellow and blue RS2000 racer that day too 8)

The silver Mk2 Cossie was my favourite Mk2 ever, that, plus the XXX peppermint green arched one in RETRO mag around the same time was what cemented MY love of Escorts.

The silver and red atmo Cossie Mk1 I featured... you won't see it anywhere. Ever. It's my mate Matt 'O Sullivans, a bit of a naughty boy from Chingford. His mates ran the Epping Forest Country Club when i knocked around the area... mint, mint car but he's not in the scene, never has been. GAZ - THAT'S THE NORF LONDON LOOK SON! ; )

Here's another old Street Machine featuring Arlett's MkI (before he XE'd it and sold it to Steve Bennett), and Terry 'Speedfreaks' Ross' GT, which I think he still owns.

More Mk1 cortina porn in 1990 from Terry Ross , loving the twin cam Piper headed Pinto :ykt::thumbsup:pictures1205.jpgpictures1206.jpgpictures1209.jpgpictures1207.jpgpictures1208.jpgpictures1210.jpg

I remember the Terry Ross Mk1 feature, I nearly ran my loom inside the inner wings on the strength of it, but felt I was going a bit "street machine" not "classic racer", glad I didn't now, but it certainly worked with that package.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

There is a blue cossie Mk1 Cortina about with a moulded in and painted rear bumper, again I think it works if you've gone far enough from original anyway - in for a penny in for a pound.

Like the Chiq in the Arlett's feature too!! Both cars Harris powered too, cool!! :ykt:8) , I think the XE in the blue one is a Harris build too.:thumbsup:
