Guest MK1gaz Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Yes it was a cracking turn out for a cold + wet Feb week night . Give yourself a round of applause people . For the folks that havent been before you can get their at 9pm and it's still good , no need to rush out and get stuck in the evening traffic .
steve mk2 Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 my first time up this year i forgot about it on new years day, was a amazing turnout considering the weather but then i love driving in the wet so didnt bother me too much shame it was my escorts last ever ace meet
petrolhead Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 If it makes you feel any better jay888pep, I noticed a lot of people going out of their way to admire your 3 door Cossie (myself included) I think it would be a nice idea to have a few token cult cars from later eras in future meets (by invitation). Those ST's definitely didn't steal the limelight but made the meet more interesting imo. The drive there was interesting (part from the snapped throttle cable). I had one bloke pull up the inside of me and ask outright "Do you want to sell it mate?" and another pull up in one of those new MG V8 things and seriously say "nice car, is it the turbo edition mate?" I had to control my laughter in a way that would have made the Sentries in Life of Brian proud! And it was great to meet you Mk1 Mark, I will aspire to be a plumber now! Bring on the WAGs!
mossy Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 i had a saph cossie fly past me on the 25 and then come back for another look, smile and a thumbs up and off he went! That cossie...the white 3door? phwooooorrrr!!!

V8ian Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 I had a word with the Marshal about the Focii, he was appologetic about them but did say they were in the carpark before he started working the gate, last year the 1st tues of every month was a general ford night, and the group were not aware it had changed, he also said that if space had become a problem, they would have been asked to go!!!

I suggested one of those straps they use on top fuel motors to keep the blower on if it blows off, might work on gaz's starter puddy

Yes they make them to fit your car, they are made by a company called Powerspeed, they are in Ashford in Kent, my boyfriend has had a manifold made for his Anglia and he is really pleased with it We recommended Adam to go there, he is chuffed with his too. BaileyMex Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 but the OSF hierarchy were ominious by their absence, Sorry people, there is normally an Admin presence at most events, but there are plenty of sensible people on the firm to make sure there are no disturbances My excuse was wife is nearly 2 weeks over due with our first child!
