Guest MK1gaz Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Where are all the XE's anyway ? Plenty at shows and meets and they all have 200+bhp according to the pub talk + mag hype !!!!!!!!
4parajon Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Think Chris may have to get Morley to get the van out
4parajon Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Thats a shame Mark, I enjoy watching you in your romper suit
Guest MK1gaz Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Think Chris may have to get Morley to get the van out Are they timing the cars with a sun-dial now then !!!!!!!!!
Guest MK1gaz Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Why not scrap the XE's from the test (slow anyway ) and put some more Atmo cossies + pintos in
Guest MK1gaz Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 i've put a post in the main area to try and drum up some XE's for you . We may have to flush them out but it should do the trick
ratman Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 Just one question what is the point of having a list of who wants to go ( see morleys post last year ) Then only choose two cars each engine type and the two picked for the pinto section wasn’t on the list Now don’t get me wrong more power to the guys who are going this isn’t a bitch because I’m not going its just I cant see the point in tugging our chains with a offer to take our cars out for a blast then starting a list to see who wants to go then restricting it to two cars bearing in mind the pinto's will be the most popular section
Tom Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 andd you still need to change it to a weekend!!

The more Cortina's the better!!
RFChris Posted February 29, 2008 Author Report Posted February 29, 2008 Just one question what is the point of having a list of who wants to go ( see morleys post last year ) Then only choose two cars each engine type and the two picked for the pinto section wasn’t on the list Now don’t get me wrong more power to the guys who are going this isn’t a bitch because I’m not going its just I cant see the point in tugging our chains with a offer to take our cars out for a blast then starting a list to see who wants to go then restricting it to two cars bearing in mind the pinto's will be the most popular section Quite simply the point is; logistics. I could say yes to eveyone who put their name down, all 36 (?) of them, but then they'd all get roughly 13 and a half seconds to run their cars on the runway. Oh, and I'd also have a lot of cars that were in attendance at the last two thrashes. If we're paying for all this then i don't think it's too harsh to give priority to people who have not yet attended. This is in my hands now, and I'm trying my best to make it a decent day out, but i must say my enthusiasm for the whole thing is begining to dwindle as so far i only seem to be recieving a great deal of criticism. As for selecting two of each car, forgive me if i'm wrong but i thought (in terms of editorial) that it might well make the feature applicable to everyone who reads the mag, so apologies if my trying to please people isn't satisfactory. In regards to the two Pinto cars not being on the list; that list was up for a good week and a half. I linked it into the main room, but still after all that time i had no one come forward for it. So those guys get the chance. Anf Tom....you bloody well know i can't change it to a weekend. All in all, Steve, from that list i have hardly had a blinding response. Structuring the event is a required evil i'm afraid. I want you guys to have a fun, so number have to stay low, and from an editorial point of view i have to have fresh/new cars or else it's just going to look like the thrash in this months issue. Apologies if this come across as arrogant, that's not what i'm trying to do, but...this is our thrash, being organised and paid for by us, for our magazine. As such we want to get the best editorial out of it. I do want people to have good time though, so i have limited the spaces so that people can do just that. Chris
boXXer Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Lay off the guy FFS. I would rather read a feature with the above layout, than have all the same engined cars. Makes a good comparison on what they can do. Everyone knows whats Pintos can do, its good to see different engine types in there too.
ratman Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 I am not saying different engines wont be interesting it will and I for one will read the feature My only gripe is why did morley start a tread If you are interested in this please start a list below. Cheers Ben And then 5 months later move the goal posts And I recon the reason as you say you haven’t had hardly had a blinding response is its taken months to arrange All I can say is thank god this time you have a selection of osf cars not just escorts because for me the escort domination is wearing thin Next time I need to be quicker to get in or fit a XE

Guest MK1gaz Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Are all the XE's still in hiding then !!!!!!!!! Sort it out Vauxhall lovers , you can't hide at the Pod on slicks forever !!!!!!!!!
Toby Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Are all the XE's still in hiding then !!!!!!!!! Sort it out Vauxhall lovers , you can't hide at the Pod on slicks forever !!!!!!!!! They can't even hide there
Guest MK1gaz Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 They can't even hide there . I reckon the "Brunters on Street rubber challenge" has put the wind up a few possible challengers . Shame we can't get a really expensive hardcore XE to turn up and give it a go as this would make a great comparison between the engine types P.S. Toby why are you now called "Burns" ?
