keep trying mate. when i did my welding cource the instructer kept saying do another, do another, do another. at the time you think hes taking the pi*s but it worked and i passed.

So get some scrap metal and get welding. :thumbsup:

Fella's this may sound obvious but make sure you get plenty of penetration of the metal if your grinding all of the face of it off wont you, if you dont there's a high possibilty the joints will crack when its on the road :wink:

Top tip for you folks, get a Joddler, it puts a little return on the edge of you panels so you can slip one behind the other and then when you weld and grind voila no sign of the weld :thumbsup::wink:

iv been learning the welding lark last few months.

 

im getting better with practice just built myself a 6 foot garden gate with big beefy welds.

 

i just find it hard to do a straight weld unless iv got a good edge or corner to follow. its hard freehanding and usually ends up looking a bit pigeon shitty and prob doesnt penetrate much

 

like any skill i suppose though keep practicing... :thumbsup:

Started working again on strengthening my chassis.

So I finally got a chance to use my new Clarke 100E mig welder that Mrs Nettles brought me for xmas.

Nope its deffo a joddler,well since I was apprenticed anyway :thumbsup:
