he let me off and i got the mot in the time before the 7 day producer but the days didnt match and i ended up in court ! it was terrifying but they let me off it

I got pulled on the A417 a few years back coming back from Gloucster having seen my daughter. My stereo had been nicked out of my car and I got a bit bored and it was a new car so I thought i'd see what it could do. Anyways, after 10-15 mins of doing 120 down the dual carriageway I decided i'd had enough and backed off, only to see 2 flashing lghts in the mirror, they'd come down off the bridge above and had clocked me at 108, so had to go to Cirencester court.

Stood in the dock was very never racking, prosecution stands up 'PC blah blah blah was positioned on a bridge blah blah blah and was timed between two points doing an average of 108mph'.

They were gonna ban me for 3 months until I explained the situation with my daughter and then I got banned for 14 days and a £400 fine.

Also, i'd only just (1 month earlier) got 3 points for speeding over the severn bridge, I don't like heights so I raced over the bridge at just over a ton and the rozzers were sat at the bottom of the bridge, they clocked me at 89 which I was quite pleased about

I got stopped once. Mainly due to that fact that i'd crashed into a Passat (parked up, no one in it) at about 60mph while being over the limit.:sad:

Certainly my biggest regret, ever. I lost my car (£5k beemer) had to pay for the Passat (£3k) and pay for the repairs to the Pug 106 the Passat hit (£1k) Got a £500 fine and an 18 month ban.:sad: Oh, and i broke 4 ribs....

Not proud and learnt my lesson. I see it as carma for doing it before and not getting caught. Never done it since and never will.

Fooking idiot that i was. Still, back into my old Fords now, so why would i even consider risking my licence again!

right since this is getting alot of views from ppl who are likely to know the situation ill post this in here lol

When i get a capri (looks like i t could be soon ) if i Insure my Landrover in my name fully comp and that covers me to drive any other car 3rd party and i drive the capri around unvder my landrover insurance covered 3rd party is that legal ? i will still be using the landrover for going to work probably but the capper for hooning around.

ill get my mum to insure the capri in her name so she still builds no claims tht she would be on the landrover but is this a legal way to do it if the landrover is still my daily drive ?

I think the answer is yes as 'i think' the rule states 'with the owners permission', and as you are the owner.......

Maybe someone else can confirm ?

Errr right the answer your looking for is, get your mum to register the capri in her name, so she becomes the owner of the car so to speak, then get your mum to be the main policy holder on the insurance for the capri.... with me so far??

Then you can drive the capri 3rd party under your policy so long as it states in your policy that you are entitled to drive cars lent to you BUT NOT OWNED by you..

I hope that makes sense. Basically you can't drive a car belonging to you under another cars policy if that car also belongs to you....

I hope that spells it out for ya

a few years ago, my brother, who is a cheeky little monkey, pulled away from the lights at the crooked billet lights in staines along the a30.

Observant as he is, he didn't spot the police following him along, so after a mile they pull him over and come round to the side of the car.....

'excuse me sir, we've clocked you doing x mph in a 50 zone, if you'd like to get out of the car and come round to our car we can show you on video'

so he gets out of his car and they start showing him pulling away from the lights and he says to them ' does this thing show you 0-60 times ?'

he only bloody got away with it too.......

Been pulled 3 times in my 2 years of driving, one of which times caused me to miss a crucial exam in college..

:(

All of which were "random" stop and checks, I might add..

I cant believe theres people with old fords that havent had a brush with the law,its all part of the fun

Got stopped once so far in the 100e,was tearing along trying to keep up with Mr zefect on the way back from ace cafe when i saw the police behind me,god knows how long they were there!we stopped-had a chat with the two female coppers (one was quite tasty!) & i dont think they could believe there eyes.

The cars were sitting there with the red hot exhausts "pinging" every few seconds, water coming out of the overflow pipe, the smell of hot brakes wafting throught the air, neither of us have front number plates & they let us go, i really couldnt believe our luck!

When i had the mk1 Escort i got stopped with Mr zefect coming back from one of the cortina meets,we pulled up at some lights,Chris was in front then me then the police rolled up behind me,the lights turn green Chris dumps the clutch & drives flat out off into the distance obviously not knowing they were there, unsuprisingly i get pulled & the copper gives me a lecture & tries to give me 3 points for something totally unrelated, after argueing my case in the pissing rain for 15 minutes he let me go cos he "couldnt be bothered to write a ticket in the pouring rain"!!! Another lucky escape

A few months later driving slightly to fast :oops: down our local high street at about 2am when a police car comes the other way,i check the mirror to see they immediateley turn round & give chase so as i round the corner i dived into a side road, lights off, duck down & hope for the best. Luckily they shot past & didnt see me.

Got stopped in my 105e one night for pulling away from the lights a bit quick  ,the cars mot had run out & one copper was all over it,luckily the other one made a few comments about how tidy it was & sent me on my way without a producer. The car got mot'd the next day!!

In my mk1 Cortina coming through a local industrial estate(beddington lane in mitcham) flatout very late one night when 3 cars come the other way,one of which was a panda car  i kept going & thought id lost them but they caught up with me about a mile later when i was sat at some traffic lights, tried to breathalise me but the machine wasnt working properly, they called for another unit which ended up being a riot van full of coppers, most of whom got out & started looking at the cortina. They made a few jokes about how it probably wouldnt go over 30mph & took the piss out of the copper for trying to nick me for speeding! Luckily i got sent on my way with just a telling off!

Got stopped for racing a minicab :dope::lol: through Morden, they admired the Cortina & nicked the cabby for having no tax!

Years ago when i passed my test & used to hang about up at sutton i used to get about 5 producers a night, mostly from the same copper. He was a real Ba*tard. The officers on the desk always used to moan about the amount of producers he dished out One night he picked me out of about 30 cars, gave me a fine & let the others go so i made a complaint about him & i never saw him again after that!

I think ive a story for every old for ive owned (quite a few) mostly when ive been stopped they just want a look round & if youve been driving like a fluffy bunny youve got to hold your hands up & accept the consequences

Driving a pinto powered 100e with no seatbelts & no crumple zones makes you drive a bit safer though

i used to get pulled over daily when my escort was a daily drive - not so much nowadays . . . . . . unless i'm being a twat

a producer for "your new in town we like to check out the new guys" "your cars also old we want to check its road worthy" down copshop next day all ok they never bothered me again

then goin to the pod back in january my worst nightmare came true i ended up in the middle of kettering then i sumhow ran a red light  then goin down a sidestreet a copper follows me flashes me i IMMEDIATLY pul onto the pavement jump out the 2 copers corner me between the 2 cars and accuse me of driving a stolen car....after id appologised for running a red (keep ur gob shut sam) anyway after seeing my licence they were fine and gave me directions to the pod :D

then today there were coppers everywhere in town all of them seemed to be eyeing my old banger up just looking for something out of place.....obviously they missed lack of bumpers siliconed on number plate lights and odd sized tyres :lol: , they caught my mate doin 65 up the road though in a national speed limit zone they let him off though, my tractor also got a fuel blockege and died at the side of the road luckily towed it home before anyone got me.....no rear plate  ...still havent got round to painting it on
