...so something was bound to break soon...

 

Coming back from work in the van yesterday I noticed a knocking sound. It sounded like the big ends, but I knew it wasn't because it only seemed to do it in second between 1500 and 2500 revs. A quick look under the bonnet, I noticed the alternator was moving. I thought the bolts had worked their way loose as they'd done it before.

 

So this morning I thought I'd tighten them up. So I tried, but they were already tight. Then I noticed that the mount had broken.

Bloody old cars. Who'd have em eh?

Look on the bright side mate, new mount and you're off again. How many people can say that after a big end sounding knock from under the bonnet?

my alt bracket snapped last year resulting in me running over my alt!!! got wedged between crossmember and the road!! made a horrendous noise :eeek: and the audi behind me give me some full beam flashes because apparently i had the cheek to cover his front panel in sparks!! :asshole: looked like a grated onion when i retrieved it! :sad:
