Toby
That looks like a real weapon mate, dyno dynamics dyno's are usually pretty stingy so 400hp, 500hp 600hp whatever, i'll bet that's RAPID!! A real credit to you. What sort of 1/4 mile times do you run? Speeds etc?

30psi MK2 CORTINA
wow..... i had never noticed a difference in the bonnet hinges !!..... but yeah thats all i have seen over here.. It is pretty handy as you can get full access to the engine and plenty of light cos the bonnet is all the way up. + you dont need to remove the bonnet when pulling the engine out
hellblue
Our's only open as far as getting the prop in & thats it !! looks like its the top bit & back arm (longer front arm ? ) thats changed so it can go over centre
Fiesta Steve
Wicked choice of motor m8, just like a BDT only more reliable and cheaper !! There was a Cortina fitted with a 4age featured in one of the 'old ford' mags over here recently and they never even picked up on the the engines relations with the BDA How unbelievable!!!! 30psi MK2 CORTINA
Our's only open as far as getting the prop in & thats it !! looks like its the top bit & back arm (longer front arm ? ) thats changed so it can go over centre  crazy..... i never new that... It looks like a escort hinge to me... a hinge on a escort over here that is... TOBY: i havent done a good 1/4 mile run yet as i have only ever had a std diff at launching it was jut a waist of time as the diff would snap like a twigg on the track we have over here ( super grippy ) So the 1/4 mile will come as soon as the diff is done !!! --- which isnt toooooo far away! Id expect to run in the 10's once its all sorted.

30psi MK2 CORTINA
Its not too bad at all hey... it idles perfectly and youd never know what lurked under the bonnet! get the revs past 5000 and its a whole different story. It will wheel spin at 100 mph if you dont run the right rubber. The pics in the mag are not too bad at all...... but it looks even tuffer now with the 8 inch deep dish rims, its also anothe inch lower I have had to cut the floor pan to keep some travel in it though as its on it guts - well and truely now. I had previously modded the rear floor to stop the diff hitting the floor under acceleration. This is the box section i made. I have now cut the whole floor to make a complete new section that will have room for the upper control arms and allow room for the larger diff. I had toyed with the idea of just running turrets but decided it would be easier and better in the end to do the whole section in one piece. Ill update more of my watts link setup and the fininshed product soon.

30psi MK2 CORTINA
update: I have been slowly (VERY VERY SLOWLY) plodding away on the car so i thought id post some pics of the work i have been doing. In fact shit has been going that slow that there is surface rust on everything .... oh well you get that when you do it in a car port. First pick is of the upper arm mounts. They tie in from under the floor as well as the structural x beam across the floor. This is of the rear watts link setup (notice all the surface rust:o )..... Dont mind the below average tack welds ,the welder was set way to cold (for welding the floor) and i couldnt be bothered slideing out from under the car to change the settings..... (its hard enough to get under it with a welding helmet on!) Ill just grind em back before i weld it properly. this is the floor have been making..... i didnt fold the sides or roll the beads, I basicly just had a flat piece of sheet cut and had em fold the sides. I ended up folding the front section and shaping it to the tunnel myself. It has come up pretty good. Notice how the beads/ swage doesnt match up with the original ones in the floor (at the top) Idiots can never do ANYTHING right! I told them 510mm apart but do you think they can get it right !!! Like i have always said...if you want a job done correctly ,........ do it yourself !-- spewin in this case i couldnt ! Anyhow ill beable to make it work and look pro still ........ I seem to have nack for that.. (lol to myself) ----- i have a few ideas up my sleeve of what to do with the miss match There is still a bit of work to go but im slowly geting there.
