jamesg Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Went to get my Capri M.O.T'd in Exeter today, they couldnt test it! The car is too long and too low for their ramp and they dont have planks etc. ahhhrrggg!!!!!!!!
antz Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 HOW RUBBISH!!!!! My local garage uses blocks of wood and it still scrapes and when he is done he always re-coatds the scrapes along the chassis legs with wax oil which is nice of him
Rick Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 if they cant get a car on a ramp how would they have the skills to repair them
jamesg Posted March 29, 2008 Author Report Posted March 29, 2008 i think they might mistake their arse for their elbow
escortmad79 Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 The car was too long? What do they MOT usually? Smart Cars?
john_3.0s Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 sound effin useless mate, go somewhere else would be my advice
caprinerd Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 always get my capri done at the local ford dealership, they cant put the capper on the ramps but have a pit and they never have trouble top marks to them, and i seem to have 5 or 6 blokes doing the M.O.T where as my mates mondeo only gets 1 old skool gets the attention
negri Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 dont MOT ramps need to be a specific size set out by VOSA ?
sab6024 Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 The garage that tests my Capper has the ramp sunk into the ground so you just drive it on Mine hasn't been lowered though so makes no odds to me
jamesg Posted March 29, 2008 Author Report Posted March 29, 2008 I thought about going to the local ford garage but if it aint got a zetec in it i dont think they know what they are looking at.

oliwally Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Went to get my Capri M.O.T'd in Exeter today, they couldnt test it! The car is too long and too low for their ramp and they dont have planks etc. ahhhrrggg!!!!!!!! Thats a load of crap, any 4 post lift will pick up a car,an mot one is longer and slighly wider than a standard one too
jamesg Posted March 30, 2008 Author Report Posted March 30, 2008 coz of how low the car is the belly would hit half way on, thats what i meant by to long. got it sorted, the capri is going in for its overhaul next saturday. the guy doing it is gonna sort me an m.o.t whilst its in.
