This car has now been off the road since April, partly because I'm a lazy bugger, partly because it's about 15miles from my house & partly because I spent ages trying to make a hybrid clutch system to run a rocket box

I recently got all the parts together, had an anglia hydraulic arm modified to fit a pinto release bearing. Put it all together with a 190mm AP pinto plate, standard pinto cover... it didn't work

I must have got my angles wrong & mounted the bearing off centre cos when the clutch pedal is pressed rather than slide freely down the input shaft the bloody slave cylinder pops off the circlips & forces itself out of the housing

Well now I've decided to do it properly... I have a new bearing spacer & arm from Neil at 105speed & a 2000e box on it's way to me... fingers crossed it should all be back together & running soon

Gearbox arrived... got a funny feeling I'm gonna need a different prop :?

Oh well, these things are never without problems!!

Is the new g/box longer than the one you took out or is the out put shaft different? As if its the out put shaft, a stock Anglia ones the same

If the new box is shorter, you could always put a spacer between the prop and the diff! :P

I haven't tried it yet, I just had a bad feeling the output shaft on the rocket box would be different to the one on the 2000e box!

they are  2000e has a smaller imput

I know that, I'm talking about where the prop goes in to the box... not the box into the flywheel.

I'm confused!??

Surely it'll just be a case of the gearbox end of the propshaft being wrong?

Eek... another thought, is the bearing for the input shaft (inside the flywheel) gonna be different as well?! is that what you mean by spigot bearing?

How much difference is the between a rocket & a bullet box?

I have the right clutch set up now for the bullet box, but will my prop & spigot bearing have been modified to run the rocket box?!

The spigot bearing is in the back of the crank shaft and yes you`ll have to take the fly wheel to get to it. But check the input shaft of the g/box take came out of your Anglia and the one that`s going back in, as there more than likely be the same!

Put the g/boxes side by side as they might be the same length. I`ve only played around with a couple of 2000e boxes and that was sometime ago. If both g/boxes are the same length but the output shaft of your new box is bigger or small just change the yoke on the prop! As is said before if this is the case, a stock 105E prop end will fit in the back of your 2000e g/box.

If you have anymore probs PM me and i`ll PM you my phone number and the best time to catch me in

That's what I hoped

I reckon that will be the case.

Cheers mate

Just spoke to the chaps at Burtons. The spigot end will be fine but I will need a different end for the prop! A standard 1200 prop should do the trick

Is the other prop you had to long? If so Hamlins (422452) in town should be able to that out

It needs to be done mate

Did you sell the other one in the end ?

Nah it's sitting on my drive looking sorry for itself. I keep meaning to put it on ebay but haven't had a chance to take any decent pics as it's either dark when I get in or it's blocked in by other cars.

The yellow one will be running soon though :ykt:
