Well last night I got the flywheel & clutch bolted on. There was still some daylight so I thought I'd just see if I could get the box on, I hate doing this. It's a pig of a job so I decided if it started to go badly I'd give up for the night... to my amazement it all went quite well  Massive thanks to my girlfriend for operating the jack on the back of the box while I balanced the bell housing above my head (she moaned the whole time but I couldn't have done it without her  )

... of course I forgot to fit the sandwhich plate between the bellhousing & block

It's all back together & running

... but no clutch :banghead: I hope it just needs bleeding :ugh:

I've given up for the night & come in for cold beer

My manifold is full of holes:

I welded a few up but it's still leaking so I bought this:

Heat wrapped so it should keep the under bonnet temps down as well as stop me from dying from carbon monoxide!

Had my carbs balanced so it's running a lot better. Not as fast as I hoped though so gonna get my old lightened flywheel back on with new ring gear & look into some leccy ignition

Well I went out in the damp the other night. Loads of fun, rolling burnouts & donuts, giving it some real stick... just took it out & there was a funny noise coming from the back end.... had a look underneath & somehow I have managed to snap a brand new rear damper while playing :?

sorry for asking this while youre having problems with the dampers.. but can you take some pictures of how they are set up at the top? i am still guessing on how i can mount the dampers on the rear of my estate

They're just bolted up through the boot floor, I don't think there's much to it. I'll get pics when I change the damper

Yep, but mine are just standard ones at the moment. It came with spax but they were too long & were bottoming out so I swapped 'em.

Fitted a new Facet fuel pump today cos the old one was playing up, took it out for a blast & broke down in the middle of town  After pushing it home I realised I'd run out of fuel :roll::oops:
