tazrocks88 Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 wtf is with turbosport making Sig pics only allowed for site supporters how crap one more reason not 2 use the site
Mr Sam Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 ive been wondering where my sig has dissapeared too
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 You should reward people for being a supporter, rather than take something away for not being one. That's why we have PURPLE POWER!
MK2Ed Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 You should reward people for being a supporter, rather than take something away for not being one. That's why we have PURPLE POWER! ...
antz Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 I joined TS, looked around and thought 'this is shit' and typed WWW.OLDSKOOLFORD.CO.UK into my web bar thingy and im still here
4parajon Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 Ive just been on there to see what the fuss is about and it clearly says that its been removed because people who are using the site are using there sigs as a free advertisement for there business's. Basically freeloading.......I fookin hate that and as a mod of this site I and the other mods & admin remove tons of freeloading posts every week. Most users of this forum never get to see them because of the mods/admin's diligence. If your that upset about the use of your sig, pay the £12.....or better yet post how upset you are on the TS board and let the mods explain it to you over there .
Admin Vista Posted May 7, 2008 Admin Report Posted May 7, 2008 I've also lost my sig over there but it's their site so I guess they can run it how they want. It's not the way we do things but it's not my call or position to judge how they want to run their site. I won't let it put me off using TS, after all there are some good people with great advice to give on there too. Let's not have a them and us type session again eh?
dannyboy Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 I like TS. I think the quality of the threads are better. There is less threads starting with " Can anyone......." whihc makes you click the thread and it turns out someone wants to know how to make a cheesecake or something equally shite If TS want to charge then fair play, they have enough traffic going through there to warrant a charge, especially if people are advertising for free. *Awaits flaming*
smiffy Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 There is less threads starting with " Can anyone......." whihc makes you click the thread and it turns out someone wants to know how to make a cheesecake or something equally shite I always thought the idea of a forum based site was to voice your opinions and ask other members for advice/help on anything classic fords-never seen a thread on here about how to make a cheesecake-anyway step 1. Crumble some digestives into an oven proof dish...........................

We also have plenty of traffic and contribution remains completely voluntary, after much discussion about our options it was decided that the carrot is better than the stick.
mossy Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 i like a bit of both... TS has loads of technical info on there
Twinkle Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 i dont blame them personally, these sites have to be paid for somehow and why should people freeload advertising at their site admins cost?
Posse Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 I think its a good idea it should sort out the free loaders that way . plus we have'nt got taste . Plus we have a laugh sorry.
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 Good luck to them. They have a lot of members so it should cover their costs. However, I do think it's a very cliquey site...
Burns Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 i don't understand the layout of the site so don't spend any time on there, but they've got to cover their costs somehow. restricting signatures isn't exactly a nazi move but it's motivation for people to join so they can have their sig back (sigs are basically showing off anyway). good luck to them

sambo Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 For me, OSF is full of top people and friendly banter etc with some helpfull advise. The good thing about OSF is that you CAN ask for advise on how to make a good cheesecake!! aswell as advice on wether those pistons you found in your dads shed will fit your pinto etc. TS ( which i dont use very often) i feel is more technical orientated. So, two different forums for two different purposes! OSF rocks and is way better by the way!
Admin Mk2Jo Posted May 8, 2008 Admin Report Posted May 8, 2008 I don't give a stuff how they run their site over there, that is entirely up to them Whatever forum you use there will ALWAYS be something that you don't like about one site that you do like about another site. What I don't like is fooking freeloaders who ONLY use the site to advertise their products/services What I also don't like is people slagging this site off and moaning about how we run things here but yet they are still on here all the time. And one person in particular has us all laughing loudly because they have pleaded with Posse to come back onto the site and yet if you visit TS you will see that person is slagging us off BIG TIME - go figure ... WTF is that all about. Put up or shut up I say If you don't like the site, don't visit - simple Oh, and thank you to all of you lovely loyal members who do like the varied content of OSF - we love you all
mk2_escort_chick Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 I'm on both, but use this site more-hence why i'm part of the purple brigade I've met some great people on here, bought my car and got work experience at Retro Ford mag ...all because of this site
tazrocks88 Posted May 8, 2008 Author Report Posted May 8, 2008 i didnt mean to make a debate yeh i dont rly spend much time over there hence the post count on there bein like 15 in comparison to my nearing 3000 luv this site and everything about it i dont dislike there site but as zetec said it can be a "cliquey site... " but every1 here is welcomed with open arms
MightySprocket Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 they dont have the best quality canvas prints over on TS either
