zetecmk2 Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 i did today because the police saw me "correct myself" on a roundabout!!! best i've ever heard it put!
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 I've not been pulled over for ten years. I mustn't be correcting myself enough.
Copey Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 i have been pulled over a couple of times for that, never any problems though not heard it put like that though, if it happens again i may use that as an excuse
Trevmk3 Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 i had to correct myself on a big roundabout last night just as id finished i saw a traffic car about 3 cars ahead thats when the cortina decided it didnt want the fuel pipe connected to the engine mind i got plenty of comments whilst sorting the problem with trusty gaffer tape
Anglia68 Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 When I had my Mk1 Escort estate back in the 80's I was stopped by the police for "rear wheel skidding" around an island. I didn't get done for it,they already had me for driving the wrong way down a dual carriageway,an easy mistake to make.

Had a fair bit of cash on me and no ID (apparently this is suspicious) Had to leave a luton full of clothes on Park Lane, not happy! Luckily Gary was not in a flippant mood when they called to vouch for me!

Ah the ring of steel used to pass through it 4 times a day Never (and i do meen never! ) when pulled by an armed officer go to take your wallet out if you happen to keep in un under arn holster they get VERY nervouse
FredTransit Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Got it down to a fine art. If I remember correctly it goes like this. Pull into the kerb. Turn the engine off Take the keys out of the ignition, wave them about, throw them onto the passenger seat Keeping your hands in view, announce you have photographic ID (I carry my passport) in an inside pocket and ask permission to produce it Permission granted, using index finger and thumb get the ID out and hold it up, wait to be approached. Be polite! Yes, I keep all my ID and mobile in a holster!
Rick Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 im waiting to be challenged by the police... i even ran out of petrol on yellow lines sunday and 3 cops went past without pulling over i couldnt believe it

ratman Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Not a pull but sitting outside my daughters work in the tina ready to pick her up plod pull up along side wound down the window passanger side and said "nice car m8 better than that crap at the garage (plastic car meet ) Dont get sun stroke pollishing it at the weekend " then he said "my brother had a 1600E " dose that count
FredTransit Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 No, but you just reminded me of something. Gary was waiting outside a supermarket waiting for me when a police car pulled up. PC got out, and said they had just checked and couldn't find a current owner for the van he was in (won't say which). This was odd cos we have a current V5 with correct details on it and had just taxed it the month before! They told him it need to be corrected, cos if we had a parking or speeding ticket the police wouldn't know how to contact us. No shit Sherlock! As you can imagine he did a fantastic job of looking gutted about this. I bet you can guess what we did about it......
