mossy Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 FINALLY IT RUNS PROPERLY! many and huge massively large thanks to my mate james (cisco24uk) who gave up his evening to come and frustrate himself and get my car running! I can finally drive my car!
over_head_cam Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 Nice one And yes, what was it in the end?
mossy Posted May 20, 2008 Author Report Posted May 20, 2008 Nice one And yes, what was it in the end? what wasnt....we found numerous things that would add to it not starting. being timed up and set up wrongly...well fooking miles out...buy the last person to look at it...points gap, a dodgy coil, over fueling carb i could go on....but i dont care now as it runs!
oddball Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Great news Ready in time for the OSFDC at Classic Ford Show
cisco24uk Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Nice one And yes, what was it in the end? 1.Timing was set on the exhaust stroke not on the compression stroke. 2.Plug leads were not on the correct cylinders. 3.Points were at no point touching the dizzy rotor. 4.Coil knackered/on it's way out. 5.Plug gaps were wrong and plug caps were not secure. 6.Carb was over fuelling. 7.Battery was flat (that was a good start lol). But other than that it was fine
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 just in time for classic ford show
