Paul F Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 So I guess the forward-thinking and pro-active among us will empty out our penny jars and go and pick up those mk5 escorts and mondeos and store them...? Just me...?

shaun1.6ghia Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 sickening aint it. im young enough to remember then being worthless but too young to of done anything about it me too, i had the chance to get a mk2 2 door for £800, a mk1 2door for summin like £400, and (this may not interest you but) a bay window vw camper for £800. all had everything with them an mot. imagine what money i could get for them now. say £3000 for 1300e mk1, £2000 for sport mk2 and £10,000 for van. wish i'd have passed my test at 17. and had the most important thing.... money.

RWDmad Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 i remember looking at some of those and thinking they were a bit dear
Slammed Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 ahh im gonna be paying up to 1 grand a bit just for a shell only if i could go back in time!
Boreham Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 bet ye won't be looking at todays prices and saying in a few years ...phew they were cheap then.... going by Reteo ford's add's pages.....there ain't any Mk1 left.. and the constant decrease in the Classic ford mag is now being replaced by Mk1/mk2 fiesta.......are they the bargin cars now
Stu_B Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 It's only the Escort values that have shot up! Capri's, Cortina's & Anglia Prices have risen but not to the ridiculous unaffordable level of Escorts.
5hane Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 its sad, a few years back my dad sold a MINT mk1 2 door £20 £20!!! but, there is cheap ones out there still.. got to go out hunting tho
mk1super Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 If them Vw campers are worth so much why dont the pikeys nick them instead an leave our fords alone!
