Admin Vista Posted November 21, 2006 Admin Report Posted November 21, 2006 Pure envy mate.My Boss is constantly taking the piss out of my cars,then tries not to look upset when everyone walks straight past his BMW Z4 without giving it a second look to chat to me about my Prefect Sean. Ditto (sort of) I don't really get any piss taking as most red blooded males lust after an RS. BUT I do get the 2nd bit in terms of envy and disgruntled owners of High spec expensive motors not liking mine getting more attention than theirs.

bomber1 Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 when i got my mk1 i thought all my mates would take the piss but i dident care as this is a car ive been brought up around as road or grass track/banger s. ive always wanted now ive got. when i got home my mum took the keys off me & gave the escy a spanking round the block then took it out to show me mates & they all admited its the coolest car ever then to top it off the next day my younger bro say to me was u down the manor last night i said yes & he said i know all my mates were rond the car photoing it on there mobile phones then saving it as a screen saver

People smile, bikers nod, I get all sorts stopping to talk while I work on it - clueless teenagers to clued up OAP's. I love it, anyone who knocks RWD cars REALLY doesn't know their cars. LUKE261 Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 most of my mates understand, but im lucky one of my mates has a mk1 escort, one has an anglia and another mate has a mk2 escort popular 2 door (all rusty projects atm tho) my other mate is looking 2 buy a mint rs2000 mk2 escort, but has buisness comitments taking most of his time unfortunately (driving instructor) i think my mates mk2 will b ready and on the road next year and possibly my other mates mk1, my mate with the anglia hasnt really touched it for years tho. im lucky in that respect my mates like osfs n that and were all between age 20 and 25 mate, me being the youngest. but my other group of friends i have dont really have an interest in osfs however when i first got my anglia most of em were like wtf is that, i said get in, we bombed down the road and raced an rs turbo and went sideways everywhere and now they think its really cool. my mate gets surprised now when we go in the village pub coz every1 in the pub asks me about my anglia, and he admitted at first he thought wtf, but really likes the way everybody had a tale or 2 bout an old motor!!

So many misguided young people like them now, that in 30 years time they will have had their families etc and be spending money on their hobbies............restoring the cars they had fun in or lusted after in their teenage years. Much like many of us now.
