Doc Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 If a OSF is powered by another engine such as a v8 from a rover or a Vauxhall redtop is it still an OSF ? I mean look at Jack the escort with scooby suspension and other non ford equipment is that still an OSF ? My view is yes they all are but if i put a Pinto and drive train into a Morris minor should that not be considered an OSf by use of the parts .......?? Just too much time on my hands
Stu_B Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 a moggy with a pinto is a moggy! An osf with any drivetrain is still an OSF
Rick Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 its all about the look not whats underneath most new cars just look shit and are made of moulded plastic crud there are exceptions but theyre out of my price range
hotrodholty Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 if it says ford on the log book and its old its osf, so no with the moggy
razersedge Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 still an osf to me what ever engine it has especially with a nova heart in mine
V6MAT Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 nooooooooooooo this topic aint a good idea i asked b4
mk2 stu Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Well i'm biased coz i got xe lump but my answer would be yes anyway, Everyone knows its the cars look and body that defines it, the old shapes and metal bumpers, if mine had a x-flow it'd still be the same car. . . . . . just slower LOL
mk2_escort_chick Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 I'm one for Ford engines in Fords etc etc, but... its still a Ford at the end of the day, no matter what engine and set up its got. I wouldn't turn my nose up at someone with an XE or Rover V8 in their OSF, especially after all the hard work they've put in. (I'm not saying that you are either, but you know what I mean)
escamino Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 if it says ford on the log book and its old its osf
sporty-corty16v Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 just proves the old saying old fords dont die, they just get modded the arse out of cos you cant get the parts any more
marky4 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 a moggy with a pinto is a moggy! An osf with any drivetrain is still an OSF agree

escort new boy Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 personally yes i think they are, but i'm more of a fan of ford engines CheeRS
Nettles Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 I'm running a Rover V8 in my '53 Anglia because they’re a lot lighter and more readily available than Ford V8’s. I’m using a complete Vauxhall Viva front axle/cross member because that was the best upgrade that was used back in the day. These modifications will make my Anglia a better car all round but it will still be an OSF to me.

richie_stix Posted June 27, 2008 Report Posted June 27, 2008 as long as the body/chasis is ford... it's a ford! most modern manufacturers these days use other people's bits, like an aston martin is an aston martin not a ford, and lambo's are lambo's not audi's... despite these cars robbing the 'lesser' companies parts bin!
