Now i know that they are not popular engines here but a sorted one pushes

300bhp and is cheaper to build than a cosworth so without the slagging

 

How do you go about turning the engine the right way and waht gearbox etx would you need ? Are there any specialists out there ?

 

 

I remember some 100es with rwd RS Turbo power and they were fookin quick 8)

Im not sure if it would work coz i had the idea a lil while ago, my m8 had a jelly mould for sale that had a either 1.8 or 2.0 cant remember no cvh in it that was rwd. so surely the belhousing etc must fit the turbo lump? Not sure on gearbox though. Someone on here would know :thumbsup:

All the big power one's Ive seen are FWD, which is why you wont see them on here, dont think Ive ever seen a RWD one to be honest.

 

no its deffo been done and i think CF featured a 100e sometime ago . . .

they used a cvh in the jelly moulds, they did a 1.6 and a 1.8 cvh, the 1.8 is shit but the type 9 gearbox that mates onto these will fit any front wheel drive cvh. i think the only difference is the spigott bearing( front wheel drive cars dont have a spigott and rwd do :thumbsup: hope this helps 8)

not mutch is interchangable between then rwd and fwd CVHs :?

seen a few RWD :thumbsup:

Deffo will fit the type 9 :mrgreen: not sure if the holes are in the blocks for RWD mounts ?

TBH they make big |HP but not sure if they'd be torquey enough in a big motor ?

I 'think' the easiest way is to use a cvh head & turbo gubbins on a zetec block*... Zvh :thumbsup:

your right, and theres a zetec modeo in the cars for sale £250 :wink:

I met a bloke that was doing this zteck bottom with a RS turbo topend gave him a 2.1 turbo lump, he was running it on megasquirt, saw it start up for the first time but thats when the real work starts getting it all dialed in. It'll give you big power and i spose decent torque if its turned right n got the right cam but it ain't gonna be cheap, but then big power never is......

it was my turbo 100E a few years back

 

just bolted the engine up to a type9 box and he presto

 

think it was the escort clutch plate, sierra preasure plate and thrust bearing and sierra spigot bush in the escort crank

 

used the escort cvh sump as this suited the 100E steering, the sierra and escort cvh sumps are not the same, im sure a sierra cvh sump fit the mondeo zetec's

Don't forget that if you use a FWD lump, the dizzy will end up in the heater bowl ;)

 

just as a note, if your using efi which has a coil pack instead then this isnt a problem as the coil pack can bolt to a inner wing or somthing :mrgreen:

 

however youd still have a problem at getting to the thermostat housing should it be nessesary. so i found it a good idea to fit a bolt in access panel so you can get to it from inside the car with ease :thumbsup:

if you use a 1.8 or 2.0 sierra block and rs turbo head then the type9 will bolt straight on and it will go in with little hassle....

 

put one in a fiesta for a laugh at college...went like fook untill the floor fell out!
