2nd Old Skool Ford London to Brighton Cruise 2008!!!!

The plan is to cruise down to the Marina once again. The Marina Events people are very keen to have us back there. It is a really "classy" venue and with the backdrop of the yachts and the Classic Fords it should be a good opportunity for some great photos.

There is just enough space to squeeze in 100 osf's. It's awesome and has got everything we need for a top day out. A pucker safe car display area, tons of pubs/bars and shops and even a dock if anyone fancies coming along in their yacht, and PUBS! There is also a multi storey car park which is FREE for anyone not on the list that wants to come along.

Legal

All the cars that take part will need to be roadworthy and most importantly have to provide proof of valid insurance before they will be allowed into the Marina.

Timings and Route

The official start venue will be at the Ace cafe on the north circular in north London. The convoy will be departing from the Ace at 8.00am!:P

All of those that were brave enough (or crazy enough) to leave from the Ace will travel to our next meeting point at Pease Pottage services in the south London outskirts at aboot 9.45am. A quick slash break and then the full convoy of 100 snorting OSF's will depart from Pease Pottage at 10.00am. We are hoping to have everyone parked up in the Marina by 11.00am I think we are talking about starting to vacate the marina at 4.00pm So there you have it.

Here's a map orientated from North to South. This is not necessarily the route we are going to take but it will be similar.

Not on the list but interested?

If you don't get on the list you are still welcome to join the convoy down to the marina. There is a FREE multistory car park we can use. The 100 paying spaces are for the actual marina precinct.

Payment

The £11.00 fee is non refundable however: If we reach the 100 car limit we will start a reserve list. If you have to drop out for some reason the first person on the reserve list will take your place. That person is under no obligation to pay OSF as we already have space reserved but they may feel obliged to send you a cheque for the fee. This is entirely voluntary and up to you and them to arrange. All 100 entrants will receive a commemorative plaque and possibly some OSF merchandise.

Old Skool Ford are very pleased to be returning to Brighton Marina as the destination for the 2nd London to Brighton run planned Sunday 27th July 2008. The run, sponsored by Classic Ford Magazine, will start at the Ace Cafe in London when you can expect to see 100 cars on convoy to the marina. Expected arrival time mid-morning.

We are a group of Old Skool Ford enthusiasts which include Fords from the 1950's, 60's, 70's and some Cortina & Capri models from the 1980's - many of them modified to today's modern specs.

Last year the marina provided the perfect platform with the shops for our partners to go and enjoy upon arrival, a vast range of food outlets and the Bowling/cinema facilities for our children who always enjoy gatcrashing our grown up Sunday's. Everyone involved agreed that a better venue could not have been found and we are delighted to be coming back this year.

With the numbers of members nolw approaching 9000 (4000 new members since the 1st event last year at the marina) we are happy to secure an annual event at Brighton's marina and would like to thank Kirsty Harris for being so helpful and accomodating us at this exciting event.
