ZetecVan 2.0 Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 Me and Jubfab went to the Thornes Park classic car show in Wakefield tonight. (Expect Mk14Dr to post some pics. I didn't take my camera). Simon was in his 2.8i Capri, and me in the van. We really ragged it though the streets on the way back, and the looks we were getting from the people drinking outside the pubs were great. But the best bit was when Simon pulled out of a junction (turning left) and there were a gang of chavs on the right who all turned round when they heard the tyre squeal (expecting to see a corsa no doubt). He floored his capri and went sideways up the road, closely followed by an anglia van doing exactly the same!! Their faces were a picture. I wonder how many black lines we left on the roads....

He pulls up next to me at a set of lights, nothing else on the road. He then starts creeping forward (I hate that ). The lights changed and I floored it. It was close, but I had him and he wasn't pleased as he was riding my arse for the rest of the way. A 47 year old Anglia taking out a nice shiney new Euro-box... I love it

Crazy bugger. I couldn't join in because i was 4up at the time and a boot full of crap when is the next meet at thornes park as i only live about 10 min ride away in ossett also any other meets in wakefield or near ossett? rob Thornes Park is a annual show im afraid Rob, but we do have a meet at the redbeck cafe every few weeks, the next one is Saturday 26th July. Anglia68 Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 I had a 2.8 Capri sat on my bumper yesterday and left him in a cloud of smoke. Sadly it was oil smoke and he didn't want to get too close 'cause he couldn't see fook all.

I kept on backing off when Simon was in front in his 2.8i... It's just too slow for the van!! Boybiffa, I'm surprised you didn't hear us, because it was Osset where we were having the most fun. That's where Simon lives.

I'll look for the tyre marks tomorrow mike LOL .. My father in law who also lives in Ossett has a mint 1979 MK3 Capri gold ghia - had it from new but he dosn't run it - just sat im his garage lol...
