is it just me or does anyone seem to not find car magazines as interesting as they once were?

I havent read about a really really good car in ages and none of them make me think I WANT ONE LIKE THAT...or given me inspiration :?

its just boring. they all seem to feature the same things over and over...some cases even the same cars :roll:

(i mean all mags in general as i do read more than just cf and rf mag...do not slate me as i am not aiming this at any particular mag or two mags.....i also read jap crap ones and other classic mags)

i think its due to the fact we have access to the information 24/7 now via the web, we can all just log on and surf the next to have a fix of OSF,

No more reading one issue as soon as you get it and then sit there with the hump for the rest of the month waiting for the next issue to come out

can i borrow some? :mrgreen:

i used to get car mags adn read them cover to cover the day i got them and about 6 times during the month.

now i sorta thumb through it over 4 days and dont pick it up again....theres just nothing that interests me.

i think the last old ford i saw in a mag that gave me inspiration was in cf and it was a white mk2 4 door with a xe in it....and rich savs mk1.

and for the jap crap it was a old toyota in white with a oil cooler on the front....proper mint 8)

i tried reading ppc but read about 4 pages and the rest was shit so i gave them away :lol:

custom car magazine isnt bad and they have the odd OSF in there too :thumbsup::ykt:

you inpiration read custard cart :thumbsup:

i think one problem, like with most scene's there is a bit of snobbery regarding what a particular type of car should look like,

fords= 13's, straight paint, 4 pot motor.

jap stuff=turbo motor, big wheels, body kit, load paint.

hotrods=beam front, flathead, cross ply's.

hence all the cars end up lookin the same, making it hard to draw any inspiration :?

antz course you can borrow em, as long as you look after em, most of them are my originals ,

of course i will :)

i hate it when people dont look after things....really pisses me off so im always careful who i lend me own stuff to.

treat other peoples things with respect i was always taught 8)

I used to buy a load of mags every month but thanks to the internet (lovely OSF) I save the money and spend it directly on the cars. I buy the odd one Rf, Cf or Ppc mainly but they don't take long to read.

i tried ppc for two months and thought it was awful.

i thumbed through in about 10mins then binned them...or i gave them away. cant rememeber

I'm biased they were nice enough to do a feature on my Zetec conversion. I prefer the mad stuff rather than the 500hp plastic boxes.

they dont make em like this anymore, heres a few of my original mags from the 70's, i just re-read em for the millionth time lol,

even the front covers are more interesting than a complete modern car mag.
