sab6024 Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 10 years ago we bought an immaculate Mk1 for £500. Taxed and tested too. It was just a 1300 with mexico wings on too Yesterday I was talking to my mate with the Anglia and he used to go around looking for Escorts in fields and drive ways and would pick them up for about £35. God how we wished we'd kept all ours....we'd be minted by now

I wouldn't sell mine for less than £15000 Nor me, if that's what they fetch then that's what they fetch and given what they cost to build up into really good nick then I'm glad the values are high. Mine owes me way more than £9k anyway. Personally I think it's completely barking paying millions for an oil painting by the likes of Van Gogh or similar. Sunflowers here fetched $40 million at auction in 1987, that's around $75 million in todays money!! But as above if that's what someone is prepared to pay then that's what they're worth and no amount of grumbling will change that.
MightySprocket Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 and lets be honest that is a sh*t painting he hasn't even coloured up to the lines

escortmad79 Posted August 2, 2008 Report Posted August 2, 2008 £9k is cheap for a mk1 RS2000! It's when people start advertising group 4 Escorts for £30k+ you should be worried Ohh. Wait...
