Drug's and Porn Spammer tossers

Hi everyone,

 

Over the last week or so we have been bombarded with spammers joining up on the site and then posting spam & viruses

 

Dodgy web links taking you to viagra sites and dodgy porn video's

 

BE WARNED!!! some of these links when you click on them will automatically start to download crap or a virus onto your computer, so PLEASE do not click on any of their links

 

If you see a new member join with a dodgy name or web site attached to their profile please can you PM either myself or MK2Jo or any other admin who is online at the time so we can ban and delete the tinker lol

use "new member activation by admin" (or so) in phpbb administration. non activated users couln't write anything. admin must deside who is spammer. hope this helps.

I think it may be easier to pm any Admin member (not necessarily mods) as I've had a few pm's for different sections, but there is now't I can do but forward it to an Admin member

getting a bit out of control,loads of links this morning cant rember but do you have to confirm a code when registering? i think this can stop these spammers which are belived to be the skummy nigerian scammers that you get on ebay ect

Can they be traced where they're coming from? Me? I can just about manage to switch my PC on and use a few Microsoft office programs. But do we have any serious internet / computer wizz kids that can teach them a lesson?
