Retro-gone. Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 thing is you need to ask questions when you WANT to understand, im just goin thro to malton to an old skool engineers with my block and psitons that offered his advice at no obligation.

Slammed Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 i would like to be a type 3 but i am souly a type 2
Admin Vista Posted August 21, 2008 Admin Report Posted August 21, 2008 I think most of us on here probably fall into type 2 in some way shape or form, I'm probably 3/4 of the way from 2 to 3 and to be fair what's wrong with being type 2 anyway? The engine builder is being paid what he asks to build the engine you want to the best of his abilities, why he shouldn't take the time out to answer your questions and explain what he's doing and why? There are no stupid questions, it's not stupid to ask the answer to something you don't know. I've read his site a few times in detail and he seems a very knowledgeable guy but with an attitude like that it's unlikely he'd ever see any of my money and I fall very much into type 3 when it comes to the budget side of his argument.
escortwithsunroof Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 my dad is type 3, but im in between type 2 and 3, ive built up an engine or 2 but to a mild spec, nothing to bonkers _________________ stock market history
bmxdave Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Id say i was type 3, but without the big budget. Although most type 2's probably think theyre type 3's so wouldnt know. Id say type 3 though. I know what id want and what to use and id only ask about stuff specific to individual types of engine. Either way id rather build it myself. I might mess up two engines, and end up paying the same as one of his engines, but at least id achieve something and know i could build another.
trevb Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Sounds like the guy has issues! if you dont like dealing with people dont do it. There are no stupid questions! there are only stupid people, who dont ask! But thats just what i think.
evil knievel Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 i agree that there are no stupid questions, but only to an extent. some one should tell the guy how bussiness works: the customers comes to you with money, to pay you for a skill that they don't have. if it wasn't for them he'd be skint so maybe he should count his blessings otherwise he might be moaning about being skint rather than moaning about a few bloody questions!!

Boreham Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 type 2.5 hate to admit to being type 2 ..as I'D ASPIRE TO BE TYPE 3..... budget and a variety of excuses prevent this..
over_head_cam Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 None of the above. I do not conform to over simplified pigeon hole classification
