turboterror Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 Yes 100bhp a litre N/A on pump fuel below 8000 revs is a great target . Anything higher is usually bullshit but exceptions do occur now and then .

Ah, little crossflow, you obviously mean 1300's, I didn't bring my 1300 along unfortunatly, but I'm sure it would piss 100 bhp as it pisses most pinto's

Ask HT how much they get from a 2000cc pinto OK a 2.1 would be easier and cheaper… 2.1 makes no difference getting 100 bhp per litre OK, start again… Ideally you’d have as much capacity as possible to make a 200 bhp pinto. I agree 200bhp is about the limit on a 2.0 and then it will be just about drivable and you’d need ultimate big valve head, loads of compression, forged pistons, mental cam, a very careful build, 50mm carbs, etc. Stretch it out to 2.2 you can still get 200bhp and more drivability............... and if you’re flush enough to go the whole hog and buy a steel crank and rods you can take the engine to 2.3/2.4 and have one which is flexible for day to day use and still have your 200bhp or around 220/230 (whatever) if you dont mind a cammy to drive engine unless of course your thrashing the arse off it.....
Fiesta Steve Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 lol, 200 bhp may be possible from a bored, stroked or both pinto but no body mentioned 200 bhp, only 100 bhp per litre
escort21 Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Look what you started mr xpackglyn
