I was just wondering whether or not you were classing Cosworths as Old Skool yet, seeing as it is infact 20years of Cosworth this year and most magazines including Classic Ford are classing it as old Skool now. And are doing features this year celebrating it's 20 years. DISCUSS...

I would say they are bordering on old skool.

As a mk1 or 2 could be called retro or old skool peolple tend to think the later cars arent. But they WILL be classed as old skool eventualy.

Same goes for the term CLASSIC. Is a cossie a classic yet?

Bite me!

I don't really see anything wrong with a Sapphire Cossie! If they're done correctly they can look really good. I was basically just wondering what your general views on them were seeing as a few people on here praise the engines but not the car :s

the mag can call them classic and retro but u wont see a rs3dr or a saph on an old skool ford stand same as mk3/4 escorts

Obviously they will be oldskool one day, just not at the moment. Doesn't stop them being nice cars it's just that eighteen inch wheels and tvs in the headrests isn't really retro

I think thats quitre a narrow minded view of cosworth owners... thats like saying every nova and saxo has got a rubbish body kit and neons, when infact the little old lady down the street might own it. Some people like to keep theirs original like alot of you lot do, on the other hand i do agree that SOME owners go over the top with what they do. The only real modifications we will be making to our Saph is a new paintjob and some wheels to go with the bigger brakes we're putting on.

I didn't mean to Tar all cossie owners with the same brush, I am seriously thinking about getting a Saff Cossie, but they are still heavilly involved in the whole Lax Power and Fast Ford scene, each to they're own

Easy...Its clearly a matter of opinion. It also intrigues me that MickyD '86 Capri is classed as old skool and an '86 Cossie isn't. You could say that it's because the Capri name had been around since the 60/70's but at the end of the day the two cars are infact the same age!

Sorry but even tho i think they can be nice, especially the RS500, I just cant see them in the same category as a MK1 Escort or Anglia.

Modern Classic perhaps, Old Skool no!

chill chelle! you asked the question and it seems you're not happy with answers.

sierra saphire = 'taxi boss?' a cosworth one just gets you there quicker

i do like the 3 door but i agree with tim, it will be a long long long time before there's one on the OSF stand

I wouldn't compare them to an Anglia or a mk1 or mk2 escort... They're completely different but i also wouldn't compare a capri to them either! It's just a massive difference in opinion. I think my point is, is the site only ever gonna class the same old cars up to the mk1 Fiesta as Old Skool?

I really shouldn't think... see this is what happens when i post relevant things :?

Psst Tom... i am chilled. I'm just making my point like everyone else does! It's just a debate, i'm not trying to cause trouble, i'm just asking about a relevant topic for once!

If you compare parts on a Anglia/Escort/Capri a lot of the stuff is interchangable! All three cars had a Xflo or Pinto of some variaty.

The Jelly moulds are totally different, fuel injection ABS etc, not saying thats a bad thing, but just a totally different era
