105E Steve Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 I'm biased cos I do love a 500. But classic? yes Oldskool? absofookinlutely not. Nothing has the clean simple classic look of a pre-80's ford. I don't think it's just about age, there's other things to consider too. Take a look at an old ford. Find a bit you like - An Anglia bonnet, a Mex arch, or even a bit of trim on the pillar of a 1600e. Look at it and imagine.... a person, with a pencil and paper took an idea form their mind and drew that part out by hand and a model maker sculpted it from whatever medium was required. Look at that part and all the other parts that make up the OSF and consider if a modern car can be in the same league..... Apart from a precious few, I think not. what he said Poetry O_H_C. Very true though, with you both on that
Gareth Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Cheers mate, Everyone is welcome on the site to show their love of the Old Skool, but there is a home for every type of car in the internet. Even hyundai accents!!!! On the whole cossie old skool thing.... Even tho I have an xr its nowhere near old skool. just feels totally different to my escort. But definitely retro.

Doc Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 I would say they are bordering on old skool. As a mk1 or 2 could be called retro or old skool peolple tend to think the later cars arent. But they WILL be classed as old skool eventualy. Same goes for the term CLASSIC. Is a cossie a classic yet? According to a letter from the RS owners club... yes! fords version of a chavalier lol Kent essex pinto crossflow They mean oldskool to me and the capri 2.8 because it was an Special Vehicles unit car but thats it ........Still like a three door xr4 i and a 3 door cosworth just not oldskool.
