escortmad79 Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 When we have them, mine & Michelles kids are going to be confused! I'm English, she's Scottish, My Mum was born in Wales, my Dad's a Salford boy, we can trace our ancestors back to William the Conqueror, both Michelles parents are Scottish but Michelles descendant is Irish going by her surname!
richie_stix Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 at the end of the day... 'tracing' your ancestors back far enough and we all end up in africa... so none of us are english!

mk1super Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 yeah man, proud to be ENGLISH not british... (sorry scots, welsh and northern irish).... S'ok son wul jist stick the heed on yi later ken Seriously!!! You be what you wanna be mate am from north of the border and it didnt offend me at all.
bmxdave Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 I think its good to have a sense of nationalism. You can be Scottish Walsh or Irish but there doesnt seem to be many English choices, its normally british. We are all british, but im English. Its like calling north, usa and south america just america no matter which part your from. Brazil isnt Alaska, London isnt Aberdeen. One side of may family traces back to scotland and supposedly to a proper scottish family. Another eventually goes to Ireland, whilst the other is completely engish as far back as the 1700's, where there may be some French or German. Im still english though because my roots go way back. Im sorry, and i dont mean to offend, but being born here doesnt mean your british. You can be british with history, but if you family goes back to asia or such places your not really from this way. When your familys lived here for hundreds of years and is completely integrated with society then your a true brit. Unfortunely the more recent immigrants dont seem to understand our culture 100% Dont mean to be offensive, its just an opinion afterall.
mk1super Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 London isnt Aberdeen. Thank god for that as Aberdeen sucks
bmxdave Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 I dont see why people get so upset about it anyway. Ive seen it before many a time. Anyone care to explain?
