Messenjah Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 hi guys i have got an NIP in the post this morning apparently i got caught by a camera van on a road i dont remember driving on and in the pictures "my car" is missing the roofrack with a capri bonnet strapped to it that was on the car on the day in question because i was heading down to canterbury to visit my m8 at uni and had arranged to sell said bonnet to evil kinevil ... so it looks like someone else is driving around on my plates how easy / hard is this to proove what can i do about it ?
caprinerd Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 did you stop off anywhere on route if so there`s cc tv m8, petrol stations are the best as they use digital camera`s for number plate reading, thats about your best shot m8
jamesg Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 a guy i work with "googled" some sites that give advice on this sort of thing. He was advised to ask the fuzz for a copy of the photo, details of the camera etc. The idea is that they cant be arsed to give you this info so they drop the charge. i'll try and find out the site for you
Messenjah Posted October 12, 2008 Author Report Posted October 12, 2008 unfortunately my local camera partnership are well up with all that and have all of those things on the internet and provide you login details so ive seen the photo evidence hence why i know it wasnt my car
GT_lenny Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Is the car in the pictures the same model colour etc as yours - if theres any difference between it and yours I'd go along to your local copshop (probably best to phone ahead and make an appointment) and point out the differences to a bobby, If theyre visable I'm sure they'll realise that your cappa's been cloned
Messenjah Posted October 12, 2008 Author Report Posted October 12, 2008 not my capper (dont have one anymore) its a pug 306 same make and model and same colour only real differences i can see are obviously the lack of roofrack and bonnet th ti know was on the roof at the time and the tax disc holder is different
countrybumpkin Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 if you have a photo cant you see the driver?

Still couldn't identify the driver from it though (car was for sale that week and was driven by about 20 different people) so I got done for failing to ID the driver instead.
evil knievel Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 that sucks mate! if you did stop at a petrol station or anything like that it is your best bet, because as said they use those digital 'smart' cameras that read your plate
Messenjah Posted October 12, 2008 Author Report Posted October 12, 2008 photo of the car the driver just looks like a bloke in a white tshirt could even be a shirt ... you cant make out any facial features ...
