i bought a grab handle for a scooter off ebay for 2 quid and matey charged me 8 quid postage. it came a week later wrapped in a freebee news paper with a 62p stamp on it!!!!! got my money back after i threatened bad feedback

i find some times you get it cheap but it never turns up i got a mini boot for 99p...never turned up

People always moan about ebay postage charges, but the way i see it when you bid the postage is clearly stated, so if its to much don't bid!

 

Plus no one takes into consideration, time to wrap, packaging costs, time to travel to the post office. I spend hours and hour packaging ebay stuff and go through so much packaging tape you would'nt believe, i buy them 20 rolls at a time.

I agree, to package something properly so that the recipient gets it in good nick, takes both time and money. I had a disagreement 6 months or so ago about something someone won and wanted shipped to Australia, I think by the time I'd packaged it enough to ensure it was safe, the cost including airmail was about £6 for a £2 item. I thought I was being reasonable (I certainly wasn't making on it) but he didn't. The Post office for instance won't refund something that gets broken in the mail if it hasn't been packaged / protected adequately.

 

That said though the cases described above do seem excessive and unfair, I'd be unhappy at paying £8 for some newspaper and a 62p stamp!

you dont just pay for the stamp. you pay for the sellers time, effort, and materials.

yes you bid knowing the postage costs beforehand, so cant really complain.

 

and it is time and effort wrapping parcels especially when its somet big like a grill that u dont want bending

I've got a pile in my garage that I thought would fit but wouldn't. I've also got the correct one for a zetec and type 9 box, which I would have let you have for a fiver

I rang Dave at Retro Ford he said to find a DOHC sierra automatic starter and thats what it is so hopefully it should be ok
