pelvins Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 after crusing at 25mph!!! (no lie) all through london on sat night going up to chelsea bridge , i gave it a very short burst of the throttle for about 3 seconds before i parked up only to find big blue flashing lights filling the air !!!! . i pulled in and was already parked up (as i was stopping anyway) before they had chance to stop me . the copper said " dont you look in your mirrors " and i replied " well i was more concerned about the pedestrians which were walking along side the road " which was the truth , after a grilling and me saying sorry a record amount of times in 3 minutes!! one of them said to me that ird won the attitude test , and the other asked me about the paint job i still s*it myself though . what has been your closest brushes with the law ?????
caprinerd Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 i got a tug a long while back and was asked about the car what it was running how much it had cost what the insurance i had etc etc he told me to go on my way and watch my speed so i pulled of and drove over his foot i stopped to make sure he was ok and he were`nt a happy rabbit
sab6024 Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 I was chatting to my Mum while driving up the A30 and was keeping up with a Rover thing in front of me. When I checked my mirrors I saw a Police car behind me so I pulled in to let him pass. He pulled in behind me and then followed me off at the next junction then pulled me over. He asked me how fast I was going, but because I was chatting to my Mum I hadn't looked. He said he was following me doing between 85 and 92mph, but because I was keeping with the flow of traffic and it was his first weekend off in 6 weeks he couldn't be bothered with the paperwork so he let me off He did tell me that if he caught me doing that sort of speed again I'd probably lose my licence
caprinerd Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 oh thats nice aint it blame it on your mum lol
cisco24uk Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Got caught going up and out of a maccyD's over the path rather than out the exit, woo woo blue lights. "Thats not really the way to leave is it" I was told whilst his partner checked out my mk1 escy (grey primer battered rear, great green bone of a thing) "is this vehicle legal?" yes officer of course it is I am a mechanic and everything is just the right side of the law. Told him my missus had just split up with me and was pissed off. So he let me off. Bulls**t the young osfers friend
countrybumpkin Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 the best one i've had is one was one of my mates bought a boat so asked me to pick it up for them as i had a land rover, so on the way back we get pulled in because the trailer board had falen off, now this wouldnt have been to much of a problem if the trailer the boat came on wasnt bending quite badly in the middle, didnt have smoke comeing from the hubs and didnt look like it had just been fished out the sea. but luckly the policeman was very understanding as it had just been bought and just asked me to take it easy with it, then almost pissed himself laughing when i told him i had no other option other than to take it easy as as the land rover wasnt able to get above 30mph towing it

Mr Sam Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 last wensday 'thats 3 points and 60 fine'..........'ill get my licence out the car'............'dont worry about it then' for the record i was accelerating to 60 (not doing 60) just as i hit the national speed limit signs and he said thats 60 in a 30 so i think he had to let me off as he had no proof of my actual speed PHEW lesson learnt though do NOT start accelerating untill you are completly past a speed limit sign!!
escortmad79 Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 He did tell me that if he caught me doing that sort of speed again I'd probably lose my licence Not for 85-92mph, you get a ban over 100mph (Unless you're a plod!! ) Closest was giving my RS Turbo a blast up a hill, someone coming down flashed me but I carried on & at the last minute spotted a camera van parked at the side of the road! I must've gone through the camera at 40 odd (in a 30) but never received a fine, summons or points as I was braking when I drove past him! Lucky day!!
Boreham Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 sorry I wasn't listening... something about close shave....
Copey Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 been pulled over a few times since i have had my capper, sidways round roundabouts normally used the "i have only just got it and didnt expect it to do that" and got "ahh ok, well just be more carefull in future" once got pulled for some sideways and got "i know its fun and looks cool, but dont do it when ther is a copper behind you" have been pulled in a 30 doin just over 40, not payin attention in the slightest got told to get out the car and stand on the pavement, copper looked round the car and said nice capri, i used to have a 2ltr laser, a black one, they are good cars, wish i still had it all the usual and then just told me to keep the speed down and got back in his car been fined for illegal plates though, didnt get away with that, not the 2nd time anyways
Lardy Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 took my capri to work this monday morning and had a little fun chasing a mini. cop car saw chased us both i went off towards selhurst the mini went straight on and who did they follow me pulled me over about 200 yards from my work,as i got out i started laughing i tried to explain that i couldnt have been going that fast as my car is old, he then looked at my uniform and said to me where are you going i said to the station and he then said to me are you JOB I said yes at which point he said have a nice morning off you go ,what a touch!
bortaf Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 I'd have to take "the fith" on 99% of em TBH but i did get pulled for having a wee drift up Tottenham highroad when it snowed hard a few years back Copper called me a cock and i agreed, well i was in a 23 foot long (empty) transit recovery truck at the time, in my defence the entier high road was 100% empty, which is why i took up all 4 lanes We discussed my driving history and experiance and i said look mate hands up i aint gonna argue, you aint caught me the other hundreds of times so i can't complain, to which he said piss off and be carefull, there's loads of nice coppers round here and i've met a few looking like i do (a pikey). I guess they have worse things to worry about i was in this
Nettles Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 A few years ago I got clocked on my old Suzuki GSX600 passing an unmarked police car on an “A” road at 110mph!!! Lucky for me the copper was oldskool and he nicely explained to me that “A” roads aren’t really meant for those types of speeds and that maybe I should calm down a bit. He then sparked up his pipe, took a couple of puffs and suggested that maybe I would better off heading towards the nearest motorway so that I could speed more safely. You’ve just got to love those oldskool local village coppers. Top bloke
Chris! Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Ive just got in from town, i had a cop pull along side me at a set of lights and open his window then shout nice car, i was abit worried as i had just floored it off the previous set of lights
vibrating_Cake Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 ive had a few good ones . theres a couple like, a week after i'd changed to twin 40's on my pinto and went to get them set up, i hadnt declaired them on the insurance yet. on the way upto the tuning centre the base of one of the carbs split and popped and banged like my exhaust manifold had come off. REALLY loud! anyway, on the way back home cause the guy said its useless, new carbs time, i got pulled over for the noise. got asked if it was taxed n tested n what the noise was all about, so i told him theres a split in the base of one of the carbs and its spitting because of the airleak. and he said thats a sorry excuse, pop the bonnet i want to see if its not the exhaust dropping off. so off he goes under the bonnet... me thinking, oh god dont cop me on the carbs, please dont lol. and he just says, oh..... ok...... im going to have to give you a producer though because you dont have you're insurance documents with you. so i argued with him, whats the point in making me drive this thing in the state its in home, then to a police station, then back again when i could just drive it home now and fix it. we argued for a bit and he just said, right, get on you're way, if i see you with a car in this state again im not being nice. *PHEW* got home and rung the insurance company up bout the carbs after that lol! also, have had one where (again) this is just after i had the carbs setup, and i gave the car some grief through this tunnel and out onto this national speed limit road. anyway i thought (halway thru the tunnel at 120) this is a bit silly, slammed on to slow down to the speed limit, and on the exit of the tunnel there was a pothole, front wheel went thru that and locked up..... to the right of me at the side of the road were TWO copcars monitering the road, obviousley they had heard me BOOT it though the tunnel and saw me coming out with my front wheels locked... safe to say i got followed and pulled over. it ended up in me arguing i wasnt over the speedlimit when you saw me, and that it wasnt dangerous driving if the road was in the state it was in. Followed by the cops arguin weather it had a v8 or a v6 under the bonnet lol! they just nattered on for a bit and i asked if this is going nowhere, they said nope. so i got in the car n drove off nice n steady lol
pelvins Posted October 29, 2008 Author Report Posted October 29, 2008 some good one out there think we should say thanks to all the coppers out there who do use there noddle and judge correctly when people are being downright dangerous or just a little over enthuiastic sometimes
Trevmk3 Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 i have been pulled many times but that is just for random checks my brother got pulled last year on his GSXR 750, the traffic police pulled him over just off the A6 in derbyshire and said "how fast were you going", its a 50 limit road so he said "about 70 thinking it was a good idea to come clean" they replied with "we know your lying as we couldnt get a speed on you as we couldnt keep up and we were doing 130" he got off with a correction notice for having a small number plate oooooopppppsssss
caprinerd Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 some good one out there think we should say thanks to all the coppers out there who do use there noddle and judge correctly when people are being downright dangerous or just a little over enthuiastic sometimes totaly agree with you pelvins there are more good than bad ones out there but ive found its the younger ones that have the prob with turning a blind eye to something really minor, the experienced more mature guys are sweet and even had one that ponced a fag of me after pulling me for a light out
LADY WIT Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Got pulled in the estate at about 1.30am on a industral estate with sarah say no more And I thought you were a nice girl Sarah????
Takeshi Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Erm....few weeks ago got pulled after blowing past my mate doing 70 in a 50..didnt realize police were following me, they followed me around an estate and I thought "that cars following me for a long time" then realized is was cherry tops Gave me grilling and checked the car over, saying your driving to fast round the estate and wont stop very quick in an old car like that. To be fair I was in the wrong and gave me a warning and stuff, then let me go. One officer said "cor look at those leaf springs" Lol. Firts time I give my car some stick in months and I get caught! Quickly slowed me back down again lol. Copper's were alright though I guess
