Johnson Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 ok so ive been drawing up a concept ive had in my head fo a while now. a zakspeed arched 105e, ive drawn this all in 3D studio max, at work when i get a chance i do a little more. this is how its looking so far...
Johnson Posted December 2, 2008 Author Report Posted December 2, 2008 here are the wheels and maps used for the texturing...
Rick Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 as always mate awesome! think you should send some of your work off to ford and start designing some real cars
john_3.0s Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 yeah what rick said mate thats awesome. needs a snorting gaa in it though not a puny 4 pot
Johnson Posted December 2, 2008 Author Report Posted December 2, 2008 Cheers rick, im currently learning alot from working on personal projects at the moment, and am expanding my portfolio, so i can hopfully get into automotive design. tho everything i want to draw turns out to be 'oldskool' inspired and not modern in any way and john that isnt a 4 pot count again... its a cut and shut xflow block i drew ages ago with a twin cam head and twin carbs. its even got a floating Thermostat housing but yer a BDT lump would suit the car better
Johnson Posted December 2, 2008 Author Report Posted December 2, 2008 here it is with the jagemeister livery and light lens maps
richie_stix Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 fook me that looks wicked... what program you use for that? just started work at a company who do 3D and i'm guna get taught the basics of 3D modelling soon...
Johnson Posted December 2, 2008 Author Report Posted December 2, 2008 we use solid works and 3D studio max, but they are so complex, im only scrathching the surface of what can be achieved with it. ive learnt most of my stuff with online tutorials but if your company is paying for you to be taught, make sure you lap it up as theres a big demand for 3d visuals.
caprinerd Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 build it build it build it its got to be done mate design it and build it, and pattern it, because "if you build it they will come" who ever they are
vibrating_Cake Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 two things i'd do to finish that off (which wouldnt be such a pain to do.....) would be to have a bit more of a contour on the front splitter, so its more like you drove into the curved part of a small cylinder..... then itll look more "fluid" rather than a snowplough also get a diffuser on it! raise the arse end up and give it some fins! check out lotus elise ones probably best to suit it!!! other than that, looking mint . p.s. im sorry i do a design course ===== im taught to be critical about things, haha
BIGKEV Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 That is awesome Johnson I am actually thinking about how to make that for Em's Anglebox I know I shouldnt but I am can I have your permsision to possibly do it one day Can you draw my RS 2000 3D? That would look mental as a 3D pic lol Sorry You carry on. Awesome mate
sambo Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 you are a man of good taste! BBS and jagermeister etc mmmmm looks awesome dude.
