as above what am i to expect mpg as ive just been talking to samuai and he reakons 7mpg on 45s on a 2.1 and im just about to fit 40s on 1.6 pinto thanks for your thoughts

i have twin 45 on a 2.1 and am getting 12 if im nice. not nice to often,no pain no gain ---its only petrol

All depends how you drive Throttle works both ways

Used to get good consumption with 16v on 45s but did have a 5 speed and you didnt need to thrash it to be quick, 16v are very torquey but so is a good pinto

Think you boys best get yer arses down the Rolling Road and get them cars set up !!!

 

On a pair that are set up properly you should easily get 25+ on a run obviously that will drop round town and drop if you nail it everywhere...

 

 

The best investment you can make is in a fuel pressure regulator and having them set up properly.

Have to say i agree with neil, my boss runs 40's on his 2.0 pinto powered kit car and rekons he is getting at least 45mpg (after it was rolling roaded) i know it is a lot lighter than an escort but when he was building it and fecking about setting them up he did 7 miles drving and god knows how long it was running/revving flat out for and used around 60 litres of fuel!

Mines set up perfectly and 15 mpg is round town/ country lanes flat out driving.

 

Don't think it gets any better than that from a 150+ bhp x-flow without using 3d igniton or driving it like a old fart. (sorry old farts)

Definitely, I have 45's on my 2.0 pinto recently RR'd at 145 at the wheels and I reckon I'm getting low to mid 20's and I'm not shy about giving it some wellie!

Same here, better on a long run but thats only ever Santa Pod so not too often, and I never take much notice of how much fuel it uses. I just fill it up when its empty.

 

It runs sweet and makes good horsepower and sounds fooking awsome, thats all thats important to me.
