Bring back the green cross code man!!! spot on and no matter what now its the drivers fault, even if someone runs striaght out into the road 2 foot in front of you from behind a van, you would virtually no chance of even seein them let alone stoppin, as you have said people need to concentrait on he green cross code more and makin pedestrians safer!!! and the girl in those adds is way too young to be out on her own, where are her parents?

Bring back the green cross code man!!! yep bring back Darth Vader i think there does need to be some education for kids about the roads, but kids are kids and can get sidetracked very easily and could quickly forget about the green cross code when out playing ect.

We are not even giving them the chance to think about road safety. As far as I know there are no campaigns aimed at kids. If that ad was of a kid looking at his phone texting and crossing the road or listening to his Ipod as he got hit, then I reckon it would hit home. Most kids are more frightened about paedos and getting stabbed than they are of getting run over or flying their kite into pylons. A sad state of affairs in my opinion

When i was driving taxi's a few years back , i ran over a kids foot who was waiting with his mother to cross the road and he darted forward when she was talking , i was only doing about 15 mph as i was coming up to lights and had a kid run straight into the side of the front wing as he came out between parked cars , the wing mirror sent him flying ,but luckily no injuries ,his mother was walking down the path with him as this happened , so i do'nt think you can count on the parent's to educate kids . BTW it's a bloody good cure for constipation when one of the little angels goes slamming into the side of the car

(drivers and kids) bad road layouts, crap drivers etc etc. something i have always thought a bit iffy was the stat about most accidents happening when cars are doing 40 in a 30, well IMHO most divers do 40 in a 30 and yes that includes professional drivers as well as the old ladys on the shopping run so presumably this must skew the stat somewhat!

caprinerd Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 ive had 3 kids run out in front of me that ive hit and i can tell you it affects even the driver specialy when its not the drivers fault one of the kids was playing chicken when i hit him at 11pm at night the kid was 13 years old and playing chicken on the M1 with a mate this is close on 20 years back and still see the kid as he bounced of my car,
