mk2 escy ron Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 today my employers decided to make me and all me mates redundant !!! taking me from 30 grand a year to absolutely fook-all and even had the nerve to say that as they are liquidating the company they couldnt pay us for the last months work so there we are feeling like absolute shit and the cheeky fookers ask us to work 2 weeks extra to finish the job we're on and they will pay us the 2 weeks but not for the past month my answer was something like F**K RIGHT OFF YA **** so there it is, no job, no money, and now i ave to try claiming all me redundancy back am sorry chaps, rant over

D4N Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Thats cr*p mate! Same thing happened to me in november, went in on the friday and by half 10 i never had a job totaly out the blue. So i know how you feel. But think of it this way better jobs might turn up. That could change your life, this has happened to me got a new job and its the best thing thats happened. Getting double the money and much better prospects in the future. Moral of the story is dont give up there is better jobs out there things like this could be a good thing in the future and could look back in time and think this was a good move Also i never leave a job/company giving bad words cos you never know what pops up in the future and could come back to haunt you. Keep your head up

Are they not going to pay you cos they are going into liquidation? cheers for support chaps thats right mate. they say they have no money to pay us with so we must now claim our redundancy through the insolvency agency. ya can claim 1 weeks money fo each complete year of service, plus the months money they knocked us for and a months money in lieu of notice as they didnt give notice. so if right i should get 12 weeks money but not at the full amount. the capped amount by the government is a max of £350 pw so you've already lost money before ya start

Good luck looking for a new job, they are out there you just have to look a bit harder to find the good ones.
Slammed Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 mate i feel for you , unlike myself i have no mortgage etc.. and bills to pay, i just need money for my car, but again i got made redundant from my last job(ahem..sanspeed... ) anyway onwards and upwards, also ron, i would really recommend going to your local college and learning something new by trade, i am going in september, and im doing 3d design, just look at your local colleges and try to train up as something else where jobs are always about for that trade hope it all goes well
