osf when i was 17 (1989) i just wanted a mk5 cortina which was a bit strange for a young lad as they were mainly reps cars not boy racers

 

it was just my favourite car i got one when i was 18 but a few months later swapped it for a 2 door mk2 escort

 

now i had 2 favourite cars and for ages just had either mk 5 cortinas or mk2 escorts most of my mk2 escorts were 4 door though

 

i had a few capris along the line too

 

so now i cant decide my top favourite

 

1st joint mk5 cortina with 2 door mk2 escort

2nd 4 door mk2 escort

 

the rest i love them all not as keen on the mk2 granny though

i love the mk1 standard, but i cant leave anythin alone and i think mk3s have more options for subtle mods ie mk2 bumpers, different wheels, mirrors etc nothin too drastic, i think for that reason i am gonna say the mk3

My brother had a mk5 cortina which was promissed to me until it got nicked,then i got my eyes on an anglia rusting away outside some indians shop but my dad wouldnt let me buy it till i was 16,by that time it had gone.

 

My other brother then offered me the mk2 i have now and it became my all time fav.

mmmmmm im a strange one here, i'd never seen a mk3 capper in the flesh.... until i bought mine, but from there i'd say its a brilliant car no doubt about that.

either that or a celica gt4 (220bhp out of the box with 4wd and jap crap engine, so im sure you can get a helluva lot more power from it)

I remember getting a lift in one of my aunties friends cars and it was a black 2.8 capri, sometime in the 80s. But earlier than that, there were 2 brothers on our street who both had tuned up mk2 escorts, so remember them in the early 80s. Plus another local kid, teared around in a mk4 cortina with huge spotlights on the front. guess mk2 escorts stand out most in my mind and thats why I've always wanted one

all ways wanted a mk2 mexico .. i have had mk3 mk4 mk5 tinas and a mk4 2.3 s a 2.8i capri... 3 mk2 grannys....a 1.6 ghia and a 16 sport and a rs 2000 mk 2 s.......mex is the best .......but it did cost me loads
