Could you kill someone with your bare hands and eat them in order to feed. Would you be resourceful enough to find yourself secure shelter from the elements. Are you intelligent enough? I reckon only people trained like the SAS and forces would stand a chance of lasting more than a year, the rest of us would form packs and gangs, back to basics like wild animals. Scenario: Imagine a global disaster. everything we take for grantid is wiped out, no energy sources, no fresh water, limited food supplies, worldwide panic, money is now worthless, political heirarchy shattered, every man for himself. how long would you last? discuss (im a bit bored tonight)

I could definitely kill an animal to eat it, but it would have to be bad to eat a human. There would be loads of food to eat in the shops (tinned) befor it came to that though. As far as the road warrior thing goes BIGKEV, you would be better off with a diesel that would take veg, as there would be no power to pump petrol and veg would still be on the shelves in the shops. Oh and bortaf, I would keep me dogs and not eat em, as they can catch food! The lurchers can catch rabbits, and if needs must the jacks will catch rats!

If it's a matter of life and death principles should go out of the window! Remember the true story about the plane crash in Peru where the Argentinian passengers eat the dead victims to stay alive? I would if it came to it I would eat already dead people, but not too sure about killing......

And as a bonus there is enough meat on her to get all my mates round for a BBQ !! Plenty of rabbits, squirrels n pigeons round here to live on. All you need is an air rifle (check) and a good knife (check). Plenty of spud fields around too...Stew for everyone
bortaf Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Actually i just bought a LR discovery TDi so bring it on I know the local springs, i can make arrows and arrow tips from flint (i REALLY need to learn how to make a bow now ) Vegitarians will be the end of the world all them cows left alive and farting away will kill the ozone layer, i say we eat the veggies first (Mmm corn fed anyone) then the vauxhall owners (yuk all tough and stringy i bet) and every friday we go exotic and find a datsun owner to roast
bronze4door Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 i have thought about the zombie thing before an i would go to where i worj as there is no way of getting in once the shutters are down and since its at a local shopping centre i am pretty sure i could knock through the walls to get to the food shops with the tools available in work plus how long can a human body run round for without food or water

I reckon id survive if i only had to fend for myself but if i had fend for my missus and kids too it would be alot harder. I'd want to stay on the move the whole time and carry bare essential tools,a trip to library might be in order to read up on survival and find out what you can and cant eat Probably stay close to the moutains where there would be lots of natural springs,without water you'd be fooked b4 you start.
