Ok guys maybe you can help me....

Im at a bit of a opening in my life as I am losing my job in July with a redundancy payout of roughly £8k.

I still live at home, no lady friend and my only bills are my phone contract plus whatever I spend on my two cars and rent to my mother.

Im currently looking for another job in accountancy but everything seems thin on the ground (especially where i live) and people keep saying YOU SHOULD LOOK AT EVERYTHING, NOT JUST ACCOUNTANCY and when i say LIKE WHAT i always get I DUNNO.

So what I ask is....What would you do if you were in my position?

I cant work out what to do with my supposed 'great oppertunity in life' everyone keeps telling me

Take a year out and travel around the world, soak up new things!! Im 34, with a missus and 2 kids, I will never get that chance now, so don't get to a point in your life when you wish you could see the world.

Thats the thing Daggle. Ive been to places like singapore, hong kong, thaliand, africa etc but Ive always wanted to go to the USA.

As you have an opening in your life ... how about going to college to re-train in something new and exciting which will then give you more options for when you re-enter the working world !

People who have qualifications for more than one type of career will have better opportunitys in the future when britain finally gets back on track

Good Luck

Ive met a few real ladyboys and to be honest mate...to look at them youd think they were lasses  its scary shit.

I dont wanan spend more tiem at college. Ive spent all my time at school, done my time  and then spent 4 years training to be an accountant and I only finished with that.

Dont wanna go to unni as its just an excuse to get pissed and get a big debt at the moment.

Dont want to do mechanics cos that makes it a job and jobs arent fun to do at the weekend when you do it all day long.

Travel to the States then, do what Stephen Fry did and visit each individual State!!, that would be awesome 8)

Cant afford it though  I was hoping my numbers would come up to wint hat £85million on the euromillions but as usual I got 2 numbers and £1.50 out of pocket

If I had the cash I would go out there, buy a car and travel for as long as I want. visit what I want to in my own time.

But I cant do that on £8k

See if they still take workers at seasonal summer camp USA?, ( I think thats the place, one of my boys was going to do it, but the Navy called) pays crap, but make the contacts, then travel around the States on your 8k.

Or you could lend it to Gordon Brown, I hear he's running out of other peoples cash top give away,..............

Can that, he just goes and prints more

Job wise what else are you good at? What have you tried before?

Maybe take a few monts and 'find' yourself?

Whatever you do don't rush into something and get stuck in a rut (like a lot of us )

I havent tried a lot before phil. Ive done a bit of waitering and a bit of retail work.

I wanna do exactly what you said. I wanna 'find' myself. Find out who I am rather than just waste my life working in an office thinking 'wish id done that'.

fook it, no matter what happens I think im gonna go to the states for a couple of weeks when I get some cash

Good choice  You've always wanted to do that so do it! While you have the chance.

Id say try not to get too stressed out about it and take each day as it comes, see what life throws at you!?

or you could gamble...........thats 5333 euro lottery tickets coming your way

First things first get your cash out of the tax mans hands.

2nd do what my mate did a test online and you input your intrests likes dislikes etc etc and it comes up with a list of jobs you would be suitable for, my mate left the forces and struggled to adapt to "civvy" street he did one of these online tests and it suggested RSPCA officer he has been at it now a year or so now and loves it, and he never in his wildest thought about that as a career in animal welfare.

Fancy going to sea?

How about as super yacht deck crew? It's not the life of riley that you might think but it's well paid and though you do require some initial qualifications they're fairly basic and it's an enjoyable lifestyle. It's not something you have to choose as a career either, crews move around from season to season so you can stay in the business as long or as short as you want.

The temptation is to try and get straight on to enormous yachts like Paul Allen's Octopus

But whilst less well paid, smaller yachts are a better bet to cut your teeth on and are arguably more enjoyable. YPI crew is a good place to start enquiry's and Laurence has a super sexy french accent. Her voice alone has kept me in the business for the last 7 years!!

sod being an accountant at this time in the century mate... my old dear owns a quite successful accountancy firm, and she is getting applicants left right and centre... which is good for her cos she can pick and choose people at 'disocunt' rates, but bad for poor sods like you!

advice so far has been quite good, i would say find a job that earns ok and enjoy having loadsa dinero! i work all day, get home tired and with little time left in the day, and i end up equaly as skint every month... just don't fall into that trap, it's GAY!
